Re: Dream reel, Antares BFS
I would like to see a tiny antares made of magnesium in the 5.5oz. Really tired of seeing them being as heavy as a round reel. Imagine something tiny like an aldebaran, all in chrome and with a shallow spool. Now that's the good stuff i want to see from Shimano. Otherwise my pixy will never be dethr...

Re: Anyone has some experience with '18 Daiwa Ryoga?
So only one reel is using Daiwa's micro grears, and might be the last. That's crazy. Finding these in the future will be difficult to say the least.

Re: Anyone has some experience with '18 Daiwa Ryoga?
I too am thinking of getting one, but not too sure if its worth it. Also strange how Daiwa introduced their micro gears, and abandoned them almost instantly. I think Millionaire CT is the only other reel that uses them?

What is up with Daiwa Gear Set pricing?!
Has anyone noticed how over the years, the price for a Daiwa gear set has increased exponentially? Like for example, on PLAT, a main gear for the Alphas R Edition is $16.60 and the pinion gear is $7.26. That's a brass pinion gear and an aluminum main gear. Then there's a fast ratio in 6.8, full bras...

Re: Z2020 gear set compatibility
Was gonna order from PLAT, so it'd be the JDM version. Does the ryoga1016 or the ryoga2020 (the older silver ryoga) has compatible main gear and pinion gear? I was kinda thinking of getting a 5 ratio set.RMCatchNrelease wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 6:54 pmOnly factory options and JDM and US models are not interchangeable.

Re: Newer Daiwa knob design is garbage!
I don't like them to the point I've switched all of them to rcs cork i shape knobs. I hate how small the new knobs are. That's what i did as well. Swapped all new gen rubber knobs to rcs corks, og daiwa corks, td ito corks and a few larger knobs from Gomexus for chunking larger baits. My main issue...

Newer Daiwa knob design is garbage!
Is it just me or their newer design, which i believe was introduced around 2016, is complete garbage? The rubber attracts gunk. The edges are very easily torn. The silver caps look bad, and i have lost 3 caps for no reason, something that has never happened with the og caps. How do you all feel abou...

Why is DRT so damn expensive?
Looking at their lures, handles, rods, etc. It looks like its very well made in Japan, but so does the Slider Swimmers from Deps, RCS/SLP handles, the Heartland rods from Daiwa, etc. Why are DRT products so outrageously more expensive?

Re: Set it and forget it reel
I mean, just set the DC brakes to Automatic and you will never need to touch the adjusting dial, but at the same time, the set and forget will never give you the maximum distance the reel is able to achieve. Personally, i can never use the set and forget settings when knowing i can still gain meters...

Z2020 gear set compatibility
My Z2020, the tank, is finally becoming "buzzy". Is there any newer reel models from Daiwa that has a compatible gear set? The 2018 Ryoga for example? Would prefer a newer gear set because they feel much smoother under load than their older tech gear sets. If there's nothing compatible from the newe...

Re: Level wind Prawl Cap???
For sure. I don't want to see it being made out of plastic on reels worth $300 plus.
