Re: Quantum
Purchased two Quantum reels at the last TW sale. A KVD Tour Cranking reel and an Energy PT with a flippin' switch. Have not put a lot of hours on them as yet but so far so good. Been a while since I've had a reel with a flip switch and the one on the energy works just fine. The cranking reel is smoo...
Re: Regret...
Bought 2 new T3 reels, don't regret buying the reels, but now I regret I have to buy 2 new rods to put them on.

Re: T3 A wild child???
Took my new T3 out for the first time. Threw a Fat Free deep diver square bill with no problem. Retrieve was smooth and easy. I thought a big lure would be a little to much for it, but no, cranked it in just fine. Tied on a Yamamoto D Shad {10 grams] got it dialed in and was very impressed. The cast...

Re: Need a rod for T3
Diameter wise, it is thinner but I like it because I don't have massive hands. Paring it up with the right rod depends on what lure and techniques are you going to use it for. Thanks Bass1980, I have tried the "slim" grips and just don't like them. The T3 seems like it would be good for fluke style...

Re: Need a rod for T3
I also vote for the Envy =D> The color scheme seems like they were meant for each other. All I need is a carbon fiber handle, and cork knobs to really set it off 8-) http://i859.photobucket.com/albums/ab157/plaza80/photo1.jpg Nice looking combo, just got a T3 during the TW sale, was wondering what ...

Re: Kistler Helium 3 Casting Rod
Hey tommy I have the 7'11. I had Trey build it with a full handle and he added the zbone balance kit. I bought it for punching and maybe some swimbaits if I ever get into them. The rods a lil faster than I'd of liked but it has a TON of backbone and the tip is nice. Holding it I couldn't believe it...

Re: Kistler Helium 3 Casting Rod
I got a H3 7'6" X-Heavy, it came with the "slim" cork grip, did not like that grip at all. Called Trey and he replaced it a full handle version. Just the ticket for a flipping rod. Have not fished it yet, but it's got a nice fast tip with tons of backbone. The build is great,no stray epoxy, guides ar...

Re: T3 or Tatula?
That said, I would love to see a T3 platform, it can even be zaion if they want, with the Tatula TWS. Remove the hood and have a solid frame , like a normal baitcaster. Make an internal clutch like the Tatula. It's one of the most palmable platforms I have found. The Mag3d is exceptional as well. I...

Re: T3 or Tatula?
Thanks PCSnooker, I've heard that the T3 has a little more torque then average. As soon as it gets warm I'm going to try a Fat
Free shad to see how it does, just from the feel of the T3 it seems like it will throw a 3/4oz crank a mile. If they go on sale again I'm in.

Re: T3 or Tatula?
Decided to pull the trigger on the 200$ T3, came in today, nice reel, the first thing I did was take the 95mm CF handle off my Lews SS just to see. Fits just fine. Spooled up, 1/2oz casting plug...holy cow, across the room with a very light toss. Very impressed. Will the 6.3 pull a Deep Diver?

Re: New HawgTech Swept Handles with matching parts...
FYI on Hawg Tech handles, the stock Abu knobs and bearings will not fit.
You can only use Hawg Tech cork or Shimano Septon.

Indeed, the recoils are a bit noisy, but they cast just fine. Using Suffix 832 and Power Pro 30lb.

I use the Kistler KLX 7'8" A-Rig rod. Mod action, good for big cranks, swims and topwater.

Re: GEN 3 Revo's - Look out for the Gearbox!
I have a Gen2 Abu Winch and a Gen3 Abu Winch, took them both down to the pond, had no issue with the gearbox on the gen3,
switched back and forth, the only thing I did notice was my index finger sits under the the gen3 gearbox. I like the wieght reduction on the gen3.
