Re: Any reviews on Cajun Custom Rods?
Good pitch Jaesen. If I didn't build my own rods, I'd be sold.

A few pics of some of the rods I've been working on.
Took some quick pics of some of the handles ive been working on for a budy of mine this afternoon and he wanted me to share email with all the good folks on TT. I'm posting in the hopes that our community can take some ideas of mine and evolve them. Let me know if you guys want more detailed picture...

Re: HM - HMX blanks
They are certainly the real deal. I have quite a few I'm working on and they are all more impressive than the one before. Every one has been razor straight, light, sensitive and power and action are as stated. I've turned down some pro-deal Croix SC5's in favor of HM-MHX's. They seem to be straighte...

Re: Guides
I learned the hard way to only use Fuji. The frames are much more durable than what else I've tried. I use Alconites and Ti Sic mostly. I am a little hard on my gear keeping 30or so rods in my rod locker. I never replace Fuji guides for my own rods and the ones I've built with "off brands" (other th...

Re: Fuji BMKOG so tiny!!
i hate tip top glue. It never holds well. Ive started using five minute epoxy for my tips and havent had one swing on me since. As for micro guides, get good masking tape (i use 3m blue) and cut thin strips to hold your guide in place. after 5 or 6 wraps, take the tape off and finish your wrap.

Re: Anyone tried the 6' MHX?
ive tried a bunch of mhx rods, though notthe 6footer. They are all a great value and I see no reason why the 6 footer would be any different. You could have always cut one down to fit your needs, but if they have a shortie now i see no reason why it would be any different from the rest of the MHX li...

Buy the Curao. When you burn the bearings and drag, replace them with what you want

Re: Can you make a rod stiffer??
Don't bastardize your NRX. Tape? Microguides? Rod blanks inside of rod blanks? Double Footed Guides? You've got to be kidding me. That's a 500$ rod you are about to ruin. Send Mattman a PM and have him recommend a replacement rod for you. Sell the Loomis, get an Otter custom and you'll be blown away...

Re: size 2 micro guides
Almost all of my micro rods have a #5.5 or 6 tiptop. I don't have problems passing knots through my guides but I find they hang on tiptops. I don't find it looks bad at all. And I still get the benifits of micros without having to fish straight fluro. Who cares what it looks like. It just has to pre...

Re: $80 - $100 blank
I'm working on my 7th, 8th, and 9th mhx and really like them. I still love my Croix customs but on a budget the MHX are great. I've had great service from Mudhole for these blanks after breaking an extra fast in my rod locker.

Re: MHX High Modulus Blanks
I keep hearing good things but I've never felt on. Going to order one this week for worming, maybe a 7'3" heavy. I like the originals, so this has to be better.

I agree. I don't know why it was made a sticky. Sounds personal to me.

Re: Just a Heads up.. Mudhole
I'm sorry to hear about the bad expirences in dealing with Mudhole. I've had great service from them. I must have spent 2500$ there in the last year and cant complain about anything except they missd a product in my last order and with one email it was in my mailbox three days later (and hit had to ...
