Re: Conquest 903 vs 843
I’m sure someone on the internet might say that but on that rod a non-factor in my hand It performs near perfection with the application you state

Re: Sensitive Moving Bait Rods
I think jerkbaits are the trickiest of the bunch. Finding the perfect tip speed for not over or under working various style and depth baits, yet having a blank that will properly load and flex deep enough (not to deep), to keep fish pinned. I believe sensitivity is a little more important here than...

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest
I looked a a number of cork handles from the Dobyns which I thought was the best cork I'd seen to the kistlers, old GLX, to NRX a few factors come out- some cork gets darker then others with the U40. some cork appears to have more filler, and they are not the same smoothness. Clearly too some of my ...

Do you fish a lot?
I’m out of town but my he3 cork looks better then yours and I’m pleased with my 17 Zbone. I’m traveling now or I would post photos

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest
somehow my detailed post got dropped when I went to preview so I give up. short answer- 2019 zbone is very good on sensitivity. might be better then NRX which by most accounts better then conquest. However the balance of the rod is not perfect and specs not as posted on Kistler website. I've kept my...

Re: GlX 843C MBR vs Kistler Zbone light medium heavy 7'
I don't own either rod you note. I own 2008 GLX 843, NRX rods, HE3 and zbones. The zbones in 2017 and 2019 should be compared to NRX in my loomis line-up not GLX. My sole HE3 I think more sensitive then my GLX 843. The action of the blank though is important and you need references. I have a 2017 zb...

Re: Balancing a Great Rod
I'm having same challenge. I have 2 rods that are super but balance is marginal for a tip up rod. My chairleg trick I use on NRX won't work

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
I did not look through all history of this 4year old thread but I likely posted. It appears to me many NRX rods are great and it depends on where and how you fish. The morning after Trump was elected I caught like 100 large mouth and my first double digit. about a year later on a cold Dec day I caug...

Re: Conquest vs NRX
I may pick up a 904 just to have one but 894 is golden to me. Does everything but punch and in regards to keeping big fish buttoned up has been near perfect. The 894 may not feel "multi-purpose" but punching and cranking are the only thing I have not pursued with it. This does not give the 904 much ...
Re: NRX 895
my 894 is nothing like the 895. I do use a balance kit and it balances at the nut as a result. The 895 just needed too much balance kit for me to like. Best application 1oz jigs and punching.

Re: Jig/Frog Rod for Bank Fishing
The perfect pitch comes with huge reputation but I've not tried it.
Kistler Helium 3 7'3H is what I have tried/own that I would recommend.

Re: Best combo for a chatterbait?
been using the Dobyns 765 graphite cranking rod and like it. Before that Loomis MBR843. both work very well.
