X2

I know three good fishermen that had new sniper break for no good reason. It is way over rated.

Re: shimano curado 201 E7 still a good reel?

They are sweet reels, some of the best around. Hold up a lot better than Diawa zillions that's for sure. Speaking from first hand experience. I would buy it for sure.

I will say that I've never had the stradic fjs or sustain fgs bind up like other shimanos I've owned. The new symetres definitely still have the binding issues though.
Do you think that in the higher end shimano spinning reels the addition of the worm gear is what prevents the binding?

Re: Why upgrade to a Curado I or Tatula?

I'll be that guy who downplays the benefit of expensive equipment. There's kind of unspoken threshold where above which you're paying a LOT of money for any actual improvements to your fish catching ability. It may be just a reel that is ligher, one that throws baits a little easier without backlas...

Re: Shimano Chronarch E vs Curado I?

I just got a curado I in the mail yesterday. Although I've palmed it on a crucial I don't want to pass judgement on how it fishes until I get some time on it. One thing I will say is that the reel is very very smooth while turning the handle and the clutch disengages and engages with a nice crisp cl...

vike tackle tungsten

Has anyone here ever used vike tungsten weights? They are sold on TW and I am thinking about trying some out. Always nice to get input from someone with firsthand use of the product. Should I go with inserts or not?

Re: Spinning Reel Brand Suggestions

Stay away from daiwa if you ever fish cold weather. The anti reverse will stop working. Have seen it with multiple models of their spinning reels over the years.

mend it bait glue

Hey guys, I was thinking about ordering mend it but was wondering if any members have used it before and what baits it works well on. I don't live on the west coast and don't have many "big baits". Any experience positive or negative would be appreciated. This long winter is killing me!

Re: anyone use bass mafia 3700 coffin for terminal

I made a stop at Cabelas on a whim and they had the Mafia coffin 3700 in stock and I couldn't say no, along with a new Chronarch E I picked up for $150 and a vision 110 in deadly black shad. Anyways I saw a youtube where a tackle nerd used a label maker to label the individual compartments and it lo...

keitech fat rigging question

What hook is the best for Texas rigging a keitech 3.8 or 4.8 fat to swim around cover in less than 10 feet. In more open water of the same depth what jig head should the bait be rigged on? Thanks.

anyone use bass mafia 3700 coffin for terminal

Looking for a new box for storing hooks, weights, swivels etc. Saw some reviews of the 3700 coffin and wondering if anyone on this site has used one. The box is tough but expensive. I'm really wondering if swivels and small hooks will slide under the dividers on this box.

Re: Need to flush spool bearings on my new Ci4?

I have heard that acetone can leave a residue but I'm not sold on that. I flushed around 30 reels in the last two months and did a lot of research on solvents. I got onto a welding forum where guys need to clean grease off metal in order to get a clean weld and there was some disagreement between wh...

Re: Fluorocarbon increases depth???

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x0w24cS3afY here is a video of a guy testing sink rates of mono, fluoro, and braid. I'm really surprised that ding ding ding the mono sinks once surface tension Is broken. Whenever I hear the oft repeated quote, "fluoro sinks" (which is very common knowledge) it should ...
