Re: Shimano to introduce balsa minnow

Good to see them stepping up thier game in that catagory. I'm sure with their engineering and design department they will put out a good product. I notice that they incorperated a tungston weight into it which is a big plus and adds value to the $11 lure. If you want a avenue for the Monster Limited...

Re: what application

No experience with the rod, but I know the feeling. Sell it or give it to some kid who will use it and buy something you can't keep your hands off of..

Is the CWS, carbon wrapping system, new from Daiwa?
They have done it on some of their other rods in the past, the Morthan Branziono EX, for example.

Fortunatly I am just out 40 bucks, until they sell my CC # I guess. If I had of looked around, I might have caught i...

Re: Need Daiwa JDM Reel Servicing Recs

We've been a Daiwa Warranty and Executive Service Center for a long time now, and we can't generally get parts for Magsealed reels. Just wondering how a US based Daiwa warranty center "generally" can't get parts for magsealed reels when a multiple variations of magsealed reels are sold under warran...

Re: JDM Pistol Grip Topwater Rods

I bought a Smith topwater rod from BassJP. Seeing as though the Classic Ambassadeurs are really expensive and I wanted a round reel, I bought what I am hoping is a damn near mint Calcutta 100XT. That sounds like an awesome combo, let us know how you like it! I follow a handle/rod maker out of Japan...

Re: Trout Starter Set

My impatience for the Conquest BFS release got the best of me. I had been looking and bidding on Abu's for the last month, never finding the right reel for the right price. I was also a little daunted by the fact that I would still have to invest time, effort and 1k for a full avail build. I'm glad ...

Re: Fiberglass BFS Trout Rods

Shane's rod came in yesterday, the action feels great for creek fishing. It will be good for brookies as well as resident browns and rainbows. I'd also like to fish gills and perch with it on the St Clair River delta, it would be right at home there as well. https://i.imgur.com/ZYx0mXrh.jpg Great l...

Re: Trout Starter Set

but if they aren't working, just throw a simple mepps or panther martin. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I've caught 10+ trout on a spinner for every single trout I've caught on a hard minnow bait. Thank you for the kind words. I can probobly catch more slapping a piece of corn on that rod too, but ...

Re: Fiberglass BFS Trout Rods

I ordered a 4'10" 1/16-1/4 from Shane today. I picked his brain a little as to his source for blanks, turns out it's he himself rolling them. He bought Steffen Brothers a couple of years ago so now he's nearly building from scratch sans guides and reel seats. Steffen Brothers were a very well known...
