Re: Seaguar Smackdown braid
...What these lines did not do is dig. Probably the best handling braid I've ever used. I don't see how it could dig unless you are running a tight drag and trying to free a snag... Agreed. Except the snag thing, because hands and wraparound things like plier handles or sticks are used to free real...

Re: Seaguar Smackdown braid
Since many 10lb braids when tied using a method that maintains it's un knotted strength...break at upwards of 25 to 30lbs. Seguar Smackdown 20lb and 30lb is essentially the same as using 8 to 15lb braids from other brands What you are referring to is the fact that European and Japanese line compani...

Thanks . That was my first spinning rod I had made after a number of fly rods. And it was a Sage blank of all brands.papabassin wrote:That's some nice handy work there no doubt. Nicely done and a very, very clean look...

Re: Rods without a hook keeper
Metal, about the same price as the plastic ones or a wad of zip ties, fold out or in for hook or drop shot keeping and looks as if it actually belongs on a rod more than $30 from Wallyworld...one foot for easy wrapping. Probably a $10 total investment with about 20 minutes total in sweat equity.

Re: Rods without a hook keeper
There is no way someone looks at a rod with a plastic hook keep, be it zip tie or Fuji, and says " that screams quality and aesthetic beauty." There are some really nice flip out , Fuji and other brand, hook keeps that can be custom wrapped wherever your heart desires on the rod and it won't look li...

Re: AOI Spool Value
Keep the spool! Why sell it while you still have the AOI. If you ever do sell that reel, I would imagine it would go for more stock (or with original parts included) to collectors even if aftermarket parts are on it since it is so rare. I have played the 'keep the spare' game too often and have a p...

AOI Spool Value
Thinking about getting one of the new ZPIs for my AOI, ASAP. Ok?
Anyway, looking for an approximate value of an AOI spool in used but very good condition. No chips , flakes, etc. And gauge interest.
Thanks in advance,
Rich

Mr Twister Grub Curly Tail.
Being that there are many different grades of tenacity in rubber used , when I'm not interested in replacing a Keitech or Senco or , or , or...the Twister takes about 10x the abuse of the 'less rigid' Japanese stuff and we all know the price difference.

That's the one that should see the most hit/hook up ratio.johns wrote:... For some reason it seems like the bottom hook on the treble always break off...
Split rings if you have tons of hookups on the rear treble, take if off it it bugs ya. My vote for topwater is replace the hook.

My Answer to Lake X Lures Cannonball
I have video of this running , but don't know how to post it.
10oz , 14" and spits more than a Cannonball.

I have two Omen Black Muskie rods and for the money they can't be beat. A bit heavy and the components are not top notch, but they perform.cortman wrote:I have my first ever baitcasting setup, a Lews LFS 6.8:1 and 13 Fishing Omen Black 1st gen. Solid, reliable, inexpensive setup. I'll never get rid of it.
