Re: Evergreen International Re-Enters our Search ...

Now that's a nice review =D> The only things that's held me back from getting into evergreen are over the years are the odd, varying reel seats(no trigger, short trigger, no blank-thru, etc) and bland styling. I'm ok with a 'boring' rod, but at $600-$800... it's got to have some 'wow factor' in the ...

Re: The Best of Both Worlds – The Shimano/Jackall Poison Adr

sic makes guides now? Who knew? :D two handed casting is certainly possible Geez I would hope so  Looking at that tiny grip and super short handle... I couldnt imagine buying this rod for crankbaits. But it does look like it was tailor made for jerkbaits/ripbaits. Not sure what to make of this ...

Re: Factory Tour: The Motivation that Fuels Megabass

Katana swords craftsmen in Japan put their life inspiration into the creation of each sword so that these were more than simply tools to cut their enemies. They contained a design aesthetic and feel that reflected the weight of their purpose and separated themselves from mass produced, stamped copi...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?

So anyone know what's up on the triggerless configuration on the bigger rods (and what appears to be a spinning reel seat on the 8' mag heavy rod- 'handle type edge cast e'- see here- http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gary_Loomis_Edge_Spiral_Wrap_Casting_Rods/descpage-NFCC.html ) ? @Cal did Gary mentio...

Re: Welcome Back Shimano : The 2013 Metanium

After looking closely at both the Antares & met... They seem to have a lot in common. They seem to have all the same features, same micro gearing, same line capacity, share the same 7.4:1 gear ratio in the hg model. Main gear material is different, and different gear ratios, but... The met is st...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?

On the longer rods I notice they use a reel seat with no trigger. Is this a new trend I've missed? I noticed that as soon as TW put em up. I've never seen that before either. I have no idea what that's about :-k . I was gonna get an 8ft cranking rod. I wanted a 8ft deep cranking rod with more sensi...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?

I enjoyed the review, except for this poppycock: "The guides are ... spiral wrapped around the blank. ...the performance benefits of eliminating twist in the blank when the rod is under load helps prolong the life of your rod." Come on, Cal--we're all fishing top-wrapped rods that should ...

Re: Daiwa Completes Their Suite with the Tatula Casting Rods

I'd love to see the tatula frog rod compared to the Steez frog rod, as the specs are identical. That seems to be the most loved Steez rod from what I've gathered (and thought very highly of in terms of sensitivity).
Doubt we'll see a TT comparison of them anytime soon, or ever, but It'd be cool.

Re: Is the Native Watercraft "Ultimate 12" Fishing Kayak ...

Good review! I've been kayak fishing hard for around 15 years now and owned many fishing yaks. Been planning on getting the ultimate 14 tandem. Only hitch is(and it's a big one), when examing & measuring the boat in person... I can't figure out how I'm going to stow my rods. Anything 7ft & o...

Re: Looking to Recapture the "LTA" Magic: Kistler's New Heli

If these had ti/sic guides, (or even stainless/sic guides) I wouldn't hesitate to try one. But at $250-$300, stainless/alconite doesn't cut it for me.
Good looking rod, and looks like they got everything else right though.
