That looks nice! I have a custom being built right now-Lamiglas PRO874 blank.....hoping it turns out half as nice as yours.

I have a Steez, an Alphas and a TD-Z that do the same thing. I never thought anything about it. All 3 work fine. Fish that reel and don't worry about the line lay....unless it starts to affect the function of the reel.

For me, an Alphas SV on a 7'3" Daiwa AirEdge gets the nod.

The SS SV is a Steez is a SS SV. The only difference is the SS SV has a single-disc drag system, a 2-bearing/2-bushing handle and no clicky cast control cap. Otherwise, the 2 reels are identical. Grease in the A/R bearing is a big no-no, especially if you fish in cold weather. It will cause slippage when things cool way down. I use a tiny bit of Abu Silicote oil in my A/R and frame bearings.
