Re: Daiwa PX68 VS Alphas SV
I have a px type r and alphas sv. The px is more refined, but in stock form my sv outperformed it with light stuff. I did go ahead and got a diy spool for the px and it made a huge difference though.

crappie magnet for trout
Does anyone use crappie magnets for stream trout? I want to use a BFS combo but I'm not sure I'll be able to cast trout magnets. I'm more confident I'll be able to cast the 1/16 oz crappie magnets though.

Re: ultra light casting rod?
Would the Teton 662L be a good all-around choice for hard and soft baits? Will I be able to cast trout magnets with my pixy/diy spool?

ultra light casting rod?
This is a new world to me, but I do have some BFS reels and rods. I want to get into stream trout fishing with the occasional lake pan fishing. My reel for the time being would be a pixy with diy spool. Lures would trout magnet, inline spinners, micro cranks, beetle spins, etc. Probably in the 2-5 g...

Re: Want to buy one super high end rod - which one should it be?
The last time Kistler ran this promotion I bought a 7'3" lexf5 zbone, helium3 ml/xf spinning rod and klx feel n reel rod. All for 3 rods for $499 (50% off). Awesome deal! I see a lot of the z bones out of stock, so as said you should call them.

Re: TDZ / TDX is there a better platform
Upgrade the handle, throw in some carbontex, take your pick of spools and it's still one of my favorite platforms. And if your a lefty you can speed it up to a versatile 7.1. My favorite do it all spool is the og gigas r+. The only downside is the finish. I'm still looking for a mint one. I still th...

Stripped screw
I stripped the side plate screw and even a flat screw driver won't work. What should I do? Next question, there is another screw that's hard to get ro where the pawn cap blocks it enough to make it a funny angle so please enlighten me. Last question, can I replace the stripped screw with something f...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
I tested my new diy long cast in my og steez and I'm really happy with it. I wanted to use my steez for some power finesse techniques. The stock spool was too wild and the sv1000 seemed too choked off. For $50 the diy spools really impress me. I was throwing Ned rigs about 30 yards with amazing con...

Re: Shimano Exsence
I'm 99.99% casting and haven't bought a spinning reel for several years (pflueger president). I told myself the president is good enough and I will put my money into casting gear. Well the monkey got a hold of me and wouldn't let go. Every night for the past month I'd look at the exsence on digitaka...

Does anyone own or know the difference between the 2000h and jdm versions? Is it just the spool or are there other differences?
