Re: NRX 852C Uses
I have mine paired with an alphas sv and use it for weightless senkos, wacky rigs, ned rigs, grubs and tubes.

Re: Is79 and rod overboard
This thread has reopened a deep wound in my soul. I flipped my yak this past Fall on the Allegheny River and I had 3 combos along with some expensive lures. The good news is I recovered 2 combos, but the bad news I lost my favorite combo and about $200 worth of megabass and lucky craft lures. The co...
Re: Fluke rod
I use an NRX 852c with Alphas SV for flukes and weightless senkos.

Re: No Shimano, No Daiwa
I'd be sad, but I'd probably go with Lews. I used to own a couple back in the day and they were decent reels.

Another rod that keeps crossing my mind for your purpose is the NRX 873crr.

Re: Is it the rod or the reel?
It depends on the application. For bottom contact, I put more into the rod. For reaction baits, I put more into the reel. For finesse, I put more into the reel.

Re: First baitcaster for my dad advises
I'd say the exsence makes a great foolproof reel. I have 30lb braid on mine and my kid who doesn't fish and has never used a baitcaster was using it on vacation last summer and he actually was having fun casting it. I just increased the braking a bit and he didn't have a single backlash.

Re: Team Daiwa Z 103H Type R vs. R+
If given the choice between the R+ and R, I'd take the R+. It's one of my favorites for long casting and pitching with good control. The ize personal orders also come with the R+ tuned spool. My steez 103hla has a dimpled R+ spool, but it was too wild for me. With fluoro it was almost unusable, but...

It's amazing that a platform as old as the TDZ is still at the top of many lists. The td ito is my favorite.

Re: Any Pixy Enthusiast left?
I sold my yellow pixzilla last year, but still have an px type r. I'd take a beating if I sold it so I hung on to it. I recently put a diy spool in it and I'm extremely impressed. Once upon a time the pixy was the finesse reel of choice. I preferred the 51e with avail spool, but now with a diy I'm a...

Re: Spool Questions
I use a 1016 in my steez for jerk baits and I throw everything from x rap 8's to vision 110's. If you want something more shallow then go with the sv105.
