I have a couple of the Team Lew's Pro reels, the TLP15H, and they are a smaller size. Is the Team Lite the same size?21farms wrote:the team lite is built on lew's LFS frame platform which i think is more compact than the tournament lite's.

Re: Lew's Tournament Lite vs. Team Lite
Does the Tournament Lite feel like it is a good reel, too? It has the same number of bearings, same basic reel, but with a carbon frame, and aluminum handle. Does it really feel less solid?

Lew's Tournament Lite vs. Team Lite
What's the $60 difference between these two reels?
The Lew's site lists them both at 5.7 oz, but TW says 5.6 for the Team, and 5.8 for the Tournament.
The only real difference I can see is the handle. Am I missing something worth $60?

Maverick, could you tell me what's that pic mean? I am really interested in it  The picture is a poorly humored reply (I hope he finds it funny, this forum has been very up tight lately) in regards to his blunt sarcastic views. Dissecting your every word, a wannabe Ben Matlock (American 80’s T...

Re: Why doesn't Daiwa face the TWS grooving issue?(with pics
No matter what the rod guide configuration, no metal that can be grooved by line passing over it should/would ever be used for that application. Daiwa's engineers wouldn't spec. something that wouldn't hold up. I'm betting dollars to doughnuts that a supplier goofed in the metal they used, or in the...

I just watched the youtube video on the KR-Concept Guide System. The high speed photography and thermal imaging are amazing!
I would have never guessed that so much was going on in so short a distance on a cast!!!

If Daiwa has "ignored" the problem, it won't go away. I'm guessing, more than likely, they got a bad batch of parts from one supplier that got incorporated into some of their reels. I've heard of others who contacted Daiwa about grooving issues and were sent free replacement parts. While I can see t...

Re: Rod sensitivity with the line over your finger
I do it too and more sensitive rods will still transmit vibrations better. It's funny. The rods that I really want to feel vibrations from are my blade, crank, and chatterbait rods, so I can tell if they're moving or fouled with grass, and if they hit something. I use a medium or med. heavy rod for...

Re: Rod sensitivity with the line over your finger
Funny you mention using braid. I used to fish braid on my baitcasters with a flouro leader a lot, and had to coat the inside face of my index finger with super glue to keep from cutting it on the hookset. Now I only use braid on my frog rods, and for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in dirty water. But...

Re: fast action bottom contact rod
For me, there are two criteria I use for choosing which action. #1 will it cast my lure? #2 will it set the hook? Those are the two most critical things for me. I can only figure those things out by fishing a rod with a particular technique and bait. An ex fast action rod will get to the backbone mo...

Rod sensitivity with the line over your finger
I have always passed the line over my index finger when fishing a baitcaster. I don't do it on moving baits, but it's automatic with me on bottom baits. My question is how will a rod being sensitive help me detect a bite better than the line over my finger? I have small hands, so I can't/don't do th...

If it aint broke, don't fix it. Then again, you will lose sales constantly if you don't improve something. Even if it mean a new bell and whistle. It's all about the latest and greatest now. The modern product life cycle has shorten considerably if you are keeping track. I for one, consider the vie...

Re: Light Wacky Rig & Drop Shot Rod
From my experience, the more parabolic a rod is, the better it loads and casts, as a general rule. A med fast tip will load on the cast more easily than a fast tip, but a rod with a fast tip will help you set the hook with less effort, since you get into the back bone of the rod more quickly. Aaron ...

Re: When did we all agree to buy the same reel from a differ
It's probably a testament to how refined reels are nowadays. There isn't much more room for improvement, and they are reaching the limits of fishability as far as how small they can make a baitcaster before it won't hold a full cast of line, or you can't find it on the reel. I expect the major...
