Re: Why Magnetic Braking System Than Centrifugal Braking On BFS reel?
I am a Daiwa Fanboy when it comes to bait cast gear. But Shimanos FTB system seems to be the best for finesse. the Shimano system has removed all unnecessary weight from the spool to make the spools as light as possible for less start up inertia, a centrifugal system has to have that weight on the s...

Re: Daiwa Lexa TWS 300 handle options
a Gomexus Alloy handle with TPE or Cork knobs would work well. They are available in 100m , 110mm and 120mm lengths
And very good value for money.

Re: Steez Ct Sv drag washers.
same as the steez A, the main culprit for the jerky drag is the washer under the main gear, If cutting your own washers a 28mm OD with 13mm ID will do for the washer inside the main gear and 25mm od x 8mm ID for the washer under the gear , I use the 1mm thick carbontex sheet to make washers. also us...

Re: Steez / Zillion gear swap
servicing reels i have seen plenty of Steez A reels develop that gear buzz. Reels used in Barra fishing. Another gear combination i have used with success is use the Steez a pinion gear with main gear from a OG zillion, with the Steez drag plate. to use the OG zillion drag plates would need the main...

Have a look at Gomexus, they have a range of carbon and alloy handles to suit most makes of reels and also have a good selection of knobs as well

Re: Zillion TW HD ‘22
Basically a Zillion HLC with a funny handle for $450. I'm guessing the spool alone will go for $140 considering what they want for the SV boost spool. Definitely going to get one of these once the price drops. Hopefully this isn't some year or two release and they hang around for a while and that s...

Re: Vibration analysis between '20 Met and '21 Zillion
Very interesting . I am a condition monitoring technician and use Vibration Analysis, Thermography, and Airborne ultrasound regularly for my job but have never even considered using it on reels. Interesting in the first lot of your data that the spools seem to be well balanced. The harmonics relate ...

Re: Daiwa Zillion TW HD 2018
Are there many differences between this HD and the regular Zillion TWS. I added a DIY spool to mine and love it. Very tough reel, heavy, big, casts lighter lures still well enough, but all around solid. The 2018 Zillion HD and HLC both now have alloy gear side plates and set plates vs zaion in prev...

Re: Reel With clicker
the only other options is to go for the smaller of the offshore reels like Shimano Tekota or the Daiwa Saltist which would be similar in size to the old ABU 7000. Have used luna 300 before but the clicker in those is very quiet. Calcutta B 400 size had a clicker as well as 300 and 400 size conquests...
