Re: Pacific NW folks (salmon)
I don't know if saltwater salmon tastes like store bought, but I can tell ya it tastes a hell of a lot better than salmon not caught in the salt. I'm not much of a fish eater, but my old man is and he says it doesn't get any better. I can tell you that catching a 15 pound coho on light tackle is the...

Look at Daiwas home page and it states the 7'1 is for cranking, the 7'2 for spinner baits. Almost every single rod on the market is labeled as technique sp...

Re: Kistler KLX rods...anyone?
I own the 6'9 CRT MH, and the 6'6 CRT Med. These rods are fantastic. I'm curious what the "K" series guides are like on the spinning rods. Anyone have a KLX spinning rod? I to was mucho happy to see the full handles come along.

Re: Kistler KLX rods...anyone?
I got my 2nd KLX today, one of the full cork. It's a 7'0 MH-Fast. This one is just as clean as my first one. These blanks are perfect, guides are perfect. I went out for a few casts today to get a feel for it throwing a t-rig. Unfortunately, I reared back to fling a cast and my plastic worm decided...

Re: Daiwa Tatula
To be silent is to approve of. Thank you! I really would like to know what the point of this decision was because the way i see it, this is a waste of production costs for Daiwa and just a poor business decision :-k I agree. How will Daiwa ever break out of their mom and pop persona with the busine...

Re: Daiwa Ballistic spinning reel feedback
How does this reel feel in terms of smoothness compared to a Sol or TD Advantage? Can someone try to explain how Zaion feels on a spinning reel? I have owned Pflueger magnesium spinning reels in the past and they felt kinda hollow and geary to me. Does the Zaion feel more like aluminum or magnesium...

So I recently had to sell off most my gear, for reasons that suck. So, to keep this short, I'll be asking some questions, you will be providing some answers. Okay, let's play - So much gear I parted ways with I have a Zillion 6'6 MH. I really like throwing 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits with this on braid. Pr...

Re: Best of the best 4 line types
Hogsticker2—Oh yeah, fishing tackle has without doubt changed for the better since I began fishing with a postwar Pflueger baitcast reel in 1950. The handles on the baitcast reels of that era turned both ways, had no free spool and both the brakes and the drag were supplied by your thumb--a long ca...

Re: Best of the best 4 line types
[quote="buster 2900"]I've used only baitcast reels for many years. Actually, I learned to fish with a baitcast reel when I was six-years old and have used them almost exclusively ever since. That was more than sixty years ago and some years before mono line even became available, which was around 19...

Re: Daiwa Tatula
So took a look at these on Tackle Warehouse's site and could some explain to me why the have 7'1" and 7'2" rods in the same power, and action. They are also rated for the same line weight and lure weight, have the same length handle and have the same number of guides? They just seem like they are t...
