Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity

I have ended up ordering the JDM G1 alloy gear sets to replace my buzzy gears. Hopefully the issue doesn't arise again so quickly.

Re: Question on 2014 and 2021 Conquest handle.

Shimano use 2 slot sizes in handles regardless of year. Baitcast reels up to 250 size use a 7mm x 4mm slot and reels 300 size and up use a 8mm x 4mm the same as Daiwa and most other reel manufacturers. The only other reel maker that uses a 7mm x 4mm slot that i know of is 13 Fishing. So to answer yo...

Re: 2019 Morethan PE SV XH gear set

Yes. The new 21 Zillion1000 gears are a direct fitment into a Steez A which the Morethan basically is. The previous gen Zillion SV and Zillion 1516 have larger gears. The JDM Zillion gears are easier to source now as Daiwa Japan have cracked down on selling gears from magsealed reels making it hard...

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity

I own the Japanese model since the first 2 months they were released. Used it a ton, and there's zero buzz and the reel is about 90% as smooth as new (haven't even serviced it yet). Funny thing is, i was watching NDYakAngler video, and noticed some insane buzzing on his zillion g, and that was the ...

Re: I’m in the market for travel rod.

Bone Voyage rods are what I would recommend and you should be able to pick them in Thailand. Check out the Bonefishingworld website for dealers. They are a Singapore based company. The rods truly fish like a one piece and are designed for fishing south east Asian species such as the Giant Snakehead...

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity

I might order the JDM alloy gear sets then. I have had Steez A reels get the gear buzz but after a few years of use not a year. Seems the G1 Alloy gears are more durable then the Current brass gears from Daiwa.

The millionaire saltwater 203 ( the black and red model) had a higher 6 something gear ratio if you can still find the parts for it.

Re: Boost Shallow Spool

Have seen recently the shallow sv boost spool has been released. from what i can tell it is the same spool as in the Silverwolf. I have said in another post it is a long casting spool that requires more braking dialled in to keep it under control. and choice of bearings makes a big difference. Havin...

Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity

I have 3 of the zillion G reels , the made in Thailand models with brass gearing. having used them for over 12 months now and have noticed 2 of them starting to get a gear buzz you would expect from alloy gear reels. One is more noticeable than the other but this would be related to the amount of us...

. I would not use oil as this can cause the rubber seals to swell on some of the models.
TSI-321 is fully synthetic and is safe with rubber and plastic. But yes be careful of mineral oils.
