Re: Shimano UL Spinning Reel....

I simply used the inshore anglers as an example. We research the entire US and base information on prior model sales, demand and what we believe our customers want and need. I'm not trying to go into too much detail here or start another argument so I will leave it at that.

Re: Bantam1

I never stated that there was no market. I was stating that there is not much of a market for shallow spool spinning reels.

Re: Shimano UL Spinning Reel....

We have looked at the shallow spool market. As of right now our reels that share common body sizes like 2500/3000 and 4000/5000 reels the deeper spool version sells better. If you want to use less line then purchase some inexpensive line and use that as backing. You can then top shot the spool with ...

Re: Shimano UL Spinning Reel....

Yes the new 1000 body is slightly smaller than previous models. The balance has also changed to be 50/50 now. The reel also has a Magnesium body for reduced weight to 6.4 ounces. Pretty close to 5 I would say...

Re: Shimano UL Spinning Reel....

The new Stella 1000FD has a 750 sized body with the 1000 spool. Small reels are actually hard to manufacture and make feel smooth. 5 ounces...well that would be really nice, maybe someday :)

Re: Shimano UL Spinning Reel....

The newer reels have a slightly shallower spool than before. We had several request for reels that hold more line and this is why the 1500 and 2500 size reels came to be. You have to remember that most of the US is slow to change when it comes to tackle. Maybe all 5 of you that want shallow spool re...

Re: Stradic bail

It might have too weak of a bail spring. We designed the reel to have a lighter bail trip but not light enough to trip when casting. Please send the reel to us for repairs.

Re: Curado 200DHSV pinion bearing

Sorry for the lag in replying to this...

I would suspect the pinion bearing. Check it for signs of corrosion and see how smooth it is when you turn it. If you do need to replace the gears then do it as a set. If you replace just one or the other the reel will not feel smooth.

Re: Rod to match Tyrnos 30II?

We offer a few different rods that will work well for you. I need to know if there is a certain length rod you prefer. Longer rod to clear the outboards maybe? I also would like to have an idea of the budget you have in mind for this rod.

Re: septon variations

The brown colored grips are not Septon, they are some sort of rubber. The grey/black knobs are Septon material. The CTE3/400/700 knobs are Septon material as well.

Re: Shimano UL Spinning Reel....

We have looked into this and there just isn't enough demand really. The new Stella FD models have a sort of an in-bewteen design for line capacity. We do offer a 500 size reel but not in the higher end models. The Symetre 750FI is the smallest reel we offer in a higher end product at this time. The ...

Re: Shimano Calais Maintenance???? Help

When I have some time I will work on making some service guides for more reels. It does take me a few days with pics and text. The users of this site seem to use a pretty wide variety of reels so I will try and determine what is needed to cover this.
