Re: Evergreen SFX Cougar Elite 7GT

I don't have the GT but I did pick up the RS version a couple of months ago based on the rod's description as a power baitfinesse/universal smallish hardbait rod. I have only had the chance to fish this once for a couple of hours however I will try my best to describe it based on that. For starters...

Re: Evergreen SFX Cougar Elite 7GT

I was just shopping some inspirare's...namely the 6'-11"xmh (3/8-3oz). I'm noticing the Evergreen rod weights, which seem to be heavier than the competition at this level. For example, the aforementioned 7' M Cougar elite weighs in at 136g....19g more than my 7' H+ Glorious (1/2-2oz). It hasn't sca...

Re: Evergreen SFX Cougar Elite 7GT

In my opinion majority of my evergreen rods hit the lower end rating slightly more accurately than the higher end. To be safe I’d assume 1/4 -7/8 would be the sweet spot for the rod, but I’d bet it would cast 3/16 pretty well. This rod has no spine so bending in any direction it will bend back to t...

Re: JDM frog rod for moderate cover?

My favorite is the Evergreen Super Stallion GT. I've had a great hookup ratio with it and it walks frogs so precisely. It's one of my favorite rods I've ever owned. Every pop of the rod tip and movement of the frog is like a deep hollow thump all the way through the handle there's nothing like it.

Re: Fragment factory

So I also embarked on the mission to get a Fragment Factory rod. I had my sites set on Madokaya since I started this thread some time ago and that idea was reinforced by the replies that came from Rise and Dom. Pretty recently, FF made ordering their rods a lot easier by offering up a simple click ...

Is paying duties a crap shoot? Or since they declare value and the size of the package up the odds of it happening?
It’s hard to say. They have only got me twice on duty charges. I’ve had 40+ rods Imported. They might be more inclined due to covid, but you never know.

Re: Evergreen Black Raven Extreme

JDMtackleheaven shows it is in stock  . I have everything in my cart but what I am seeing is no insurance is offered. All the way from Japan and no insurance on a rod is risky. They usually ship through fedex and in pvc pipe very well secured. I’ve never had an issue through them. Usually ge...

Re: Evergreen Black Raven Extreme

I am seriously contemplating getting this rod. I am so confused on how to get it. Every Japan fishing site shows no stock. Is this impossible to get now? Did I miss out? Does anyone in the US get these in? Lots of questions but this is my first ultra high end rod purchase. Evergreen seems to have s...

Re: Ultra Smooth

  Sounds interesting, but how much smoother do you need in a reel? Kind of reminds me of the scene in “There’s something about Mary”, where the dude is talking about 7 minute abs. Then Ben Stiller says, but what if someone comes up with 6 minute abs? Step into my office. Why? Your F@#ki...

Re: Steez Racing Design 701MH / HXB-ST

I still love mine as well. I use it per the name Hustler finesse tune. I have a 7”wacky senko tied on right now, but use it for drop shot with 3/8 tungsten cylinder weights. I’ve also thrown Texas rigs, jika rigs, and lots of neko rigged worms on it. I keep all my gear as nice and clean and nice as ...
