Luna Gear Swap
Does anyone know if the gears from my SV105SHL will drop right into a Luna 103L? I know that the 6.8 gears from an alphas will fit, so I'm wondering about the 7.2's from an sv105. I've already gotten carbontex for the stock 5.8 gear set and the high speed gears won't be permanent, so I'm not gonna b...

The Major Craft Volkey 68L is perfect for that.
Or if you don't mind spending the moolah, it would be hard to beat an MSX.

Re: Finesse baitcasting rod help
I have an sv105 spooled with 10# invizx and mounted on that Tatula 6101mxb and it's a killer little setup. Great for what you're looking for. I really like it for flick shakes on weighted hooks, neko rigs, finesse jigs, small t rigs, senkos and other weightless plastics. It's very light, perfectly b...

Well, on the bright side, you won't need it until then, anyway. It's also great for square bills and traps.

Re: TATULA 711MHRB Casting Rod?
I use mine for swim jigs, spinnerbaits, and topwaters. It has a fairly stiff tip, pretty heavy backbone, and a moderate/fast action. It's slightly tip heavy, very lightweight and sensitive. The R stands for Reaction, as those are the types of baits it's best suited for. It's a versatile stick. You c...

Re: travel casting rod recommendations
That's true. The 7' MH/F Ardito is on the heavy side of medium heavy and the extra side of fast, for sure. I feel that's what makes it suited for most power fishing techniques. For me 15# Invizx is perfect for it, but I'd go as high as 20. If you go with 50-65# braid, you won't have a very forgiving...

Re: travel casting rod recommendations
The arditos are fantastic rods. They're well built, well balanced, sensitive, and powerful. Excellent for worms/jigs, spinnerbaits, square bills, and even topwaters like spooks, frogs, and toads. I've caught fish on all those baits no problem using the 7' MH and it performed admirably. You'd never k...

Re: Luna 103 Drag Clicker
How does the clicker on a 300 work? How would you turn it off?

Re: Luna 103 Drag Clicker
You need a longer pinion shaft, but that's it. It's smooth and powerful and casts like a rifle shoots.

Re: Luna 103 Drag Clicker
Thanks! Nope. I actually had a swept 85mm on it before that and just added a spacer or two to make it clear.
