Re: Fastest gear set for the Pixy and Alphas
The gear sets will retrofit, I’m running the 7’a in an Amber Pixy with no issues You have the Alphas SV gears? Do you remember if they're made out of aluminium or brass? They’re brass, I remember being pleased with that fact when I got them in from TTT. Very smooth and sped the reel way up.

Re: Cast Control Unlike Any Other: 13 Fishing Launches the Innovative Z SLIDE Baitcaster
How is this different from the dual braking that is found on most reels? Usually the linear mag portion is on the same side as the centrifugal. Moving it to the handle side just strikes me as a gimmick. At least it is different. This was one of my first impressions as well, in addition to getting l...

Re: TDX tdz spool compatibility.
The spool will obviously run much looser at the same settings it had before, but you should be able to compensate by simply tightening the cast control knob.

Re: TDX tdz spool compatibility.
I’ve solved this issue on other Daiwa platforms (also 34mm spools) by removing the bearing from the side plate, then taking the washers out from under it, until you reach the shims located just above the screw holding the magnetic braking unit on. Take those shims out one at a time and test for func...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Found a fish to break in my new swim bait setup. Not huge but still a solid fish for around here. Fish came on a 6” Optimum Boom Boom slow rolled through the pads. Gear used included a Daiwa Z2020 and an Abu Garcia Fantasista Beast with 20lb P Line CXX.

That is a fantastic fish! I’m in your neck of the woods and can attest to that being a BEAST, the frame on that fish is unreal for up here. Well done

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
We’re still stuck in pre-spawn limbo here in Northern Ohio, with 20* temperature swings, but it’s kept the window to catch a big female open longer and I was able to capitalize yesterday. Biggest fish I’ve caught in a while. 22” long, 17.25” girth. Fish ate a Texas rigged Damiki Air Craw and then ki...

Re: Megabass Magdraft Freestyle Rod
If you can find one I’d look at the Destroyer Evoluzion Mephisto. It’s a 6.5 power medium fast 7’2” rod that should be pretty close to what you’re looking for. I know that didn’t help narrow it down, but it’s another option

Re: Steez sv103 spool.
Honestly if you’re trying to free the spool up I’d stay with changing the inductor spring or rotor. Both are cheaper than a new spool and are known to make SV spools quicker. There’s a thread I’ll link at the bottom that covers doing this.

Re: Spool options for IP68
The IP68 is based off the OG Zillion frame and would need spacers to run these spools. Just a heads upHogsticker2 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 8:22 pmZillion G1 1016SV

I'm sure someone can chime in with some awesome spring and inductor mods. The Tdz Type R spool comes to mind.

Re: New vs old greats for cranking.
I like the gear ratio and ergonomics of the TDZ-M so I would highly suggest that reel I’ll second this recommendation. Great reels, a good cranking ratio, and a lot of cosmetic upgrades available. Plus it comes with what is arguably the best 36mm Daiwa spools ever made. You can absolutely sling bai...

Re: Buying Reel On Ebay From Japan
If you are buying used the only additional fee would be customs, if you get selected. I’ve purchased three reels this winter from Japan, as well as several lots of lures, and have yet to accrue any additional charges. I even managed to get a one piece rod through without customs, but I got lucky the...
