Re: zillion type r users
I have 3 of the zillion reels but not the type r. They are awesome reels for chunking and winding anything over a 1/4 oz. They are built to last. If you are going for light baits the zillion is the wrong choice. A Daiwa Sol would be a better choice and if you want really light a Pixy or PX68 is the ...

Re: Cumara vs. Champion
Nice fish Fat G. I use my 734C for paddletail swimbaits, 1/2 oz jigs, and big spinnerbaits. It should do fine for what you want.

Re: Suggestions for a Plastic Solid Body Swim Bait
I haven't fished any of the above mentioned swimbaits but I really like the I like the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper in the houdini color. With a Swim X Screw Lock Swimbait Hook. I tried the hollow bodied money minnow and it tore up too easily for me.

Re: Cumara vs. Champion
There is nothing wrong with posting questions on Tackle Tour, I thought that was the point of this forum. We can't all go out and buy every rod out there and try then out for ourselves to see witch one works out for us. I value the opinion of others on here to help me narrow down my search for a rod...

Another vote for the crazy cranker. I also like the sol for light shallow crankbaits. I have a revo premier on my dobyns 704 cb glass, very nice combo.

Re: Strike King Go-B-Gone
The Buckeye Goby Sled looks pretty cool but, I think it would work better with a goby bait that has a solid head for the cork screw to hold on to. The Strike King Go-B-Gone is a hollow bodied bait to slide a jig into kind of like a tube except it has a tail.

Re: Which Dobyns Champion for...?
I suppose it would really annoy you guys when I outfshed you with my current, old-fashined setup. A CR724 bought second-hand and a sweet little Cardiff 200 reel. Nothing wrong with shorter rods, I have a cr721 and a cr722 and really like them both. Fish whatever rod length your comfortable with, fi...

Re: Zillion 100H HCL
Regarding the cast-abilities, I have two HLC spools and what I can say is that they are meant to cast far away so they don't work so well in pitching or in any application that implies slow spool rotation. So, if i wanted to improve the pitching capabilities of my zillions, I would be better off ge...

Re: Dobyns 734C
I tried the 1oz spinnerbait, Strike King Bottom Dweller Spinnerbait on my 734c today. Its definitely at the top end of its range but it handled it fine. Man thats a heavy spinnerbait, it took 2 hands on that rod to chuck that thing. I got it to try at devils kitchen lake that has deep grass. If i us...
