New gear!
I recently started a thread about which reel to buy: Chronarch 100B or Core 100Mg - yes, B I went with the B. One of my favourite series... I now have the B and BPV. It will be used for spinnerbaits and paired with a 7' MHF AVID! photo-4.JPG I also upgraded my St. Croix LTB Tube Spinning rod (finall...

Re: Throwbacks
The foam headed worm appears to be an early original Doug Hannon Snakebait-they came in various shades from realistic to ridiculous, but they were pretty cool.Doug Hannon still offers snakebaits, but they are much larger nowadays and one molded piece....The wood lures look familiar but I cant place t...

Agree and true! Very few backlashes and definitely less than with any other reel I've used!WoodT wrote:My DC100 only backlashes to remind me not to take it for granted.
Yes, they backlash. Less frequently and generally more easily corrected.

Re: longest casting baitcast reel+rod +line combo for 3/16-1
Is there much difference in casting difference between these 2 and say a shimano 250 caluctta DC? Heavy lures like spinnerbaits and cranks or a topwater lure like a Sammy will not be outcast when compared to a DC model. IMHO, go with a Calcutta DC for all your needs... 100DC or 200DC depending on c...

Re: longest casting baitcast reel+rod +line combo for 3/16-1
I don't have the rod but it's on my wish list... G.Loomis BCR893GLX or NRX. It's 7'5" and called "senko" rod and designed for plastics but I'm sure it could handle top waters without any issues. For a reel - especially for distance - go for a Shimano DC (digital control) reel like the Calcutta 100DC...

Re: 2 reels... same app
Thanks for the replies guys! Casca, what do you use them for? I have a 100BPV and love it but have always wanted the 6:1 but right now am undecided! I've used the 100BPV for almost every application and have plans for it to be on my swimbait stick for smaller swimbaits this year so the 100B could he...

I'm torn as to which reel I should get! Chronarch 100B (that's right, the B) or the Core 100Mg Both have same gear ratio and would be used for cranks (casting and "light trolling"), and spinnerbaits! Chronarch 100B BNIB for total of - including taxes - $129CDN Core 100Mg BNIB for total of - includin...
