Re: Calcutta 100DC or 200DC ?
I have been tempted by the bigger versions and their line capacity, but the palmability of the 100 has kept me there...just wait til you cast it...you'll want 5 more. That's the best way to sum up the reel... "wait til you cast it... you'll want 5 more". When I was trying to decide which one to go ...

Re: What is your pick for an all around rod for power fishin
I love the LTB series and my all around rod is the Carolina Rig rod (7'3", Medium-Heavy, Fast). This rod has a lot of backbone but a very nice tip!

Re: St.Croix's New 2012 LTB Line
I still haven't sent my LTB Tube rod in to be replaced but I'll be getting TBS71MF in the exchange. I love the LTB series and have to trade in three rods: the Top Water rod, the Walleye Series Jig Rod, and Tube. I'll be getting the Plastics rod (to be paired with Pflueger President spinning reel), t...

Re: New Reel --- Need help
I actualy got the Core 100MgFV in the Fall and only took it out once (I think) and threw spinners for trout. I really want another 6:1 ratio reel!falcon wrote:I'd go core 100 and if need be upgrade to 7:1 gears.

Re: Are the DC versions of Calais/Antares worth the extra co
My two favourite reviews are those of the Calcutta TE200DC and the Calais 200DC. I bought both reels because of those reviews (and many others). The reviews are incredible. Back to the topic. I have the Calais 200A and its DC counterpart as well as the Calcutta TE200GT and its DC counterpart. The DC...

Re: New Reel --- Need help
Thank you so much for the responses guys. I LOVE the Calais 100A, but fo that app, I would get the Core....maybe consider the 50 if it has enough line capacity. I've looked at the 50 so if I can get it at the same price I'll go with it! Not too sure as to with which rod I'd pair it but probably a 7'...

New Reel --- Need help
I'm looking into purchasing a new reel and have kinda narrowed down to two reels: the Core 100Mg and the Calais 100A.
I can get the Core 100Mg for just over $300 with taxes.
I'd most likely use it for fishing senkos. Which of the two is the better option?

Re: Core or Calais for Crankin?
the Calais DC is too fast for blades. Just not comfortable to me at 32 IPT unless you are talking very small willows. My 3 fave SB reels are currently the Scorp DC, Calais 200, and TD-Z 100M...although the 103H works just fine. I have a Calais DC and I love it for spinnerbaits for smallmouth! Where...

Re: It never fails...
What about a Core 101Mg? I'm sure you could find one in your price range! The local tackle shop up here has them brand new for under $300 and that's how I got my 100MgFV. We're up in Canada! Also, I heard from a BPS staff member just before Christmas that the Core 100Mg/FV have been discontinu...

Re: Quantum pulled a Curado with the new Energy spinning!!
I don't know how you guys get all these super expensive reels and lots of them Instead of buying books, I use my school loan money for fishing equipment  Just kidding! That sucks though how a lot of manufacturers are just coming out with junk! I actually like the Curado E series it's grown on ...

To with the Calais 200DC! Will launch those without any problems! Plus, the 7:1 ratio will help tame those big fish!
