Re: Favorite Discontinued Reel?
I saw the "favorite discontinued bait" topic in the hardbait section and figured I'd start one on reels, my favorite subject . My favorite discontinued reel would have to be either the Curado D or E. What's yours? I regret selling my Curado E7... recently picked up a Chronarch 200E7 and now wo...

I would love to see 7'11 NRX flipping models!
Re: DOUBLE UP
I've said it more than once, but the NRX893 is the most versatile rod I've ever used. I agree. I haven't used mine for as many techniques but only because I haven't yet had the opportunity. I use mine for senkos, cranks for bass and trout, minnow rigs for perch, jerkbaits for river walleye, top wat...

Re: ARB fix chronarch
Mine had very very very very very - you get my point - minimal drag so I stopped using it after only a few handful of outings. Well, this summer I finally sent it in (and my Calais as well) and Shimano replaced a few parts. Both are excellent now. It could simply be the grease or it could be somethi...

Re: NRX 893 vs 894 backbone
I've fished my 893 in some mats and it wasn't too bad. Around grass or reeds I think it'd be ok

Re: Jackall Poison Adrena 7'6" rod
I haven't seen the 7'2" in person but I've played with the jerkbait spinning rod and the 6'10".
I put my Core 50 on it last night with a 1/2 oz. jig and it feels pretty nice. Gonna try matching it with different reels today

Jackall Poison Adrena 7'6" rod
I got this rod today from my boss (last year the 842s NRX ) and can't wait to try it out… unfortunately it'll be quite some time before I get to up here in the great white (currently green) north. Anybody have any experience using it? Recommendations? Not too sure what I'll be using it for ...

Re: absolute worst reel you ever owned
I had the Eon and feel exactly the same, had potential but wow that reel was a birdnesting machine. I had both original versions and loved them... I lent them to a friend who was just getting into baitcasters last year and haven't asked for them back yet. I bought some Shakespeare black baitc...

Re: How many calais do you own?
200A x 1 200DC x 1 I felt like my 200A had zero drag power when fighting fish over... 12"? I've had it for about 5-6 years now and finally shipped it off to Shimano. Got it back and the paperwork says they replaced a lot. Finally gonna take it out again to test it this Sunday... using it on a 893 NR...

Thanks guys.
I picked one up and it doesn't feel too tip heavy... I'll have to see for sure when I take it out this Sunday!

Cumara (red) Flip Rod
Does anybody have this rod and is willing to share some info and feedback?
I know it's 7'11" Heavy and Extra Fast, with lure rating up to 1 oz.
I have the GLX 953 JWR and was looking to add another stick to handle the same duties.
I plan to pair it with a Core 50Mg7 for now...

Re: Taking the plunge: 1st time NRX buyer
I'd likely opt for the 873 CRR or 894 depending how thick the cover is and how bulky of plastics you are dealing with. The 893 is a great rod up around 1/2 oz., but based on your location, etc., may be light for what you are looking for. I like it (893) for lighter baits in shallower water, or slig...
