Didnt have much time this weekend so I headed out to Calero with two of the other editors, JIP and Vador for a few hours. They are biting on everything. We caught fish on plastics, spinners, and cranks. I managed to land 8 fish, nothing huge but overall nice action. The south end has great condition...

definately take a look at the new Shimano rods, but most are positioned very mainstream. If you are looking for ultimate refinement offered via a custom type rod then keep looking. But as far as pure fishing sticks go Shimano has come a hell of a long way in the last 2 seasons alone.
