Re: Team Lews ELITE-Ti SLP looks better than anything from Daiwa/Shimano

Basically with SV spool the twisting of the ramps is what makes the inductor extend and this is primarily driven by the magnets slowing the inductor. On an SV reel with a stronger breaking profile like an Alphas TW SV you can get the inductor to extend on a pretty mild flick at max mag dial. You'll...

Couple questions on the 70 and the 80. Does the 80 have a clicking drag? Does the 70 have a clicking drag and has anyone tried skipping with it?
The 80 does not have a clicking drag. Not sure on the 70.

Anyone planning on getting the 70 or 80?

Just curious
It looks like the 80 is going to be available first, so I am going to try that one, but If I can feel the mag dial sticking out on my index finger, it is a no go for me.

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

Daiwa put out teaser vid titled "The future is coming. Are you ready? 03/04/2022" on their Facebook page. Just shows a dude in a tux, a briefcase, handcuffs, and a helicopter.

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

I see Daiwa is now a supporting sponsor for the Bassmaster tournament trail. I am thinking the new Tatula 80 and SV 70 will be Bassmaster Classic releases coming up in early March.

Joekaz, Can you post a pic of the ad?
I tried, but I couldn't get it to go with my lame phone.

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

The latest issue of B.A.S.S. Times has an ad for the new Tatula SV70. It looks like the 80 with a chrome clutch bar. The pic only shows the palm side.

Re: Seriously still no news about new '22 reels?

Looking at the overhead shots, based on width and shape of the nose, I think we’re either looking at a modified curado i frame or an entirely new one as it is narrower than the 200i by some margin and the shape of the nose is notably different. Speculation time - is this a refresh of the SLX platfo...

Re: Seriously still no news about new '22 reels?

Shimano just introduced the new Sahara FJ spinning reels. I find it interesting that they brought back the anti-reverse switch for all the sizes. Only the 500 sized reel had the switch on the previous Sahara FI.

Re: Seriously still no news about new '22 reels?

Joekaz, on closer inspection I think you’re right… some things don’t seem 100% 200i (seems narrower on overhead view, slightly different nose) but it seems closer to that than the 70, and the sideplates are definitely closer to the curado 200i / scorpion dc. Is it possible this is an attempt to get...

Re: Seriously still no news about new '22 reels?

The SLX DC XT looks like the 2017 Scorpion 100 DC but with a MGL III spool. I think it’s actually a dc on the curado 70/scorpion 70 frame; I think it’s the first dc on that frame too… they’re getting all kinds of mileage out of that frame. It was released 6 years ago and still derivatives are comin...

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

I hope your right LowRange, but the latest Tatula 100 has the dial access on the top but it still doesn't work for me. In my case the problem is also the ridge that sticks out that is below the mag dial with all of the Tatula's and this new one looks like it has a ridge to. Yep it has that. I do pr...
