Re: Curado 200g
Same here. I bashed on them for their poor decision making with their new lineup. I still think they ruined the Chronarch name. I don't think a company should ever spec down their product while keeping the same name, even if they reduce the retail price! They are hurting their hard earned reputation...

Re: Quantum tour....the silver one on sale.
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/whitmoboy/SSC_0490.jpg I saw the same sale at Cabela's and decided to go for it. I had a bad experience with a P.O.S. Energy PT a few years ago, but I decided to give Quantum another chance. Haven't had a chance to fish it yet, but it sure is a super smooth re...

Re: Fuego, or stradics which should I buy today?
Went ahead and ordered 2 fuego 2000 models. After going out today to check out the FJ Stradic I wasn't all that pleased but it looked sweet. I hope I like the diawa as I never used one before. I still need two more reels maybe later I'll add the Stradic. Hell Yeah! I think you will be super happy w...

Not in the USA, but the JDM model Antares AR is available in lefty! Best reel I own! They are charging an arm and a leg nowadays though.Pegasus wrote:Do they make the Calais 100 in a left hand retrieve cause that is what eventually buy I don't like r. hand reels

Re: Fuego, or stradics which should I buy today?
For $160, I definitely think the Fuego is the obvious choice. Sorry, I know you said you ruled it out, but I hope you would reconsider. I own a Fuego, a Stradic FI, and a Stradic ci4. The Fuego is WAY BETTER than the other two, in my opinion. I can't find any fault with it except for the finish that...

Re: Revo/Patriarch parts swapping?
I don't know about the other parts, but I know the spools can't be swapped. The STX/Premier have the InfiniSpool (?) with the short shafts (like Daiwa uses), but the Patriarchs use the regular long shafted spools. If I were you, I would just experiment since you already have the reels. Tinkering wit...

Re: Lefty Alphas and a few other new toys.
For those that own multiple purple alphas, does the color vary from reel to reel? My original righty is a deeper purple than my newly acquired used lefty. Could it just be that the original owner of the lefty had it exposed to sunlight on the deck a lot, thus fading the paint a little? Also, I will ...

Re: Antares AR
Same exact reel...differences: - LH avail in Antares (regardless of the LH Calais 100 5 Star Review given on the Calais 100 on TW). - I read somewhere the Antares AR is slightly lighter in the chrome color? Some of my favorite reels for a multitude of applications. I think it also has a shorter han...

Lefty Alphas and a few other new toys.
Nothing fancy here, just a story about my quest to acquire a reel that I really like a lot. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/whitmoboy/DSC_0429.jpg I've owned a righty Alphas for about 6 years. Bought that one from Ginrinpeche because I just couldn't pass up the deal he was offering. Unfortuna...

What an awesome, very detailed story of your trip. Looks like an awesome time and glad you finally caught a few on that last day. Hope you had a safe trip back and keep us posted on how that E7 and Duckett MM works out on those Hawaii fish.... Thanks for sharing it with us... =D> Been out on the lo...

Re: Daiwa TD Fuego-A spinning reels
I just got a 1000 for my ultra light, its soooo smooth and it seems the line comes off the spool much easier then my Patriarch. I feel like a fool for not ordering another one on BF for $175. Major regret there. It is the best spinning reel I've ever used. Makes my Stradic 1000FI and ci4 feel like ...

Re: Is a fishing rod supposed to be all straight?
My Duckett and one of my Cabela's Prodigy rods have a slight bend to them. Living in Hawaii, exchanging them would be a big hassle, so I live with it. I am convinced that it is purely a cosmetic problem because I have seen no effect on performance, although maybe I am too much of an amateur to notic...
