Re: Are older MB rods worth it nowdays?
I am no expert but I thought the xti was just in the butt and xfti all the way. Maybe they misprinted the xti when it should of said xfti. This is exactly what i've been thinking. I mean, i can see the wiring through the whole thing  . Also, i fished it for couple of hours and caught a 9.8lb...

Re: Are older MB rods worth it nowdays?
In the first pic (the rod's model), it says Xti but when you unscrew the reel holder, it says Fti ](*,) . The rod was custom built into a 2pc and you can see the wiring going through the whole rod. Is the Xti supposed to be full titanium from the butt to the tip? http://imgur.com/a/YI9cU http://imgu...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
The star drag looks pretty good, wish they had them for the alphas/pixy platform. I was able to install the DIY carbon fiber drag star on my Alphas SV no problems and used the clicker from the original drag star. I wasn't able to install one on the Zonda due to the shortened handle shaft the Zondas...

Re: Are older MB rods worth it nowdays?
Small update. Received the rod today, looks spectacular, i wasn't expecting it to look this good in person (lucky to get one like NIB too). The model i got is the f5 1/2 68XTi. From what i've read, the XTi is supposed to have the titanium wiring but only in the butt section, right? I'm asking becaus...

I paid like $30usd. Great rod but the handle is not for my liking.earthworm77 wrote:What does Plat. charge to ship a 2pc rod? Is it reasonable?

Re: Are older MB rods worth it nowdays?
did some research and it looks like a lot of people are praising the the Xfti because of its full titanium reinforcement but barely see anyone ever mention the Xti. Is there a significant difference and the Xfti is the way to go?

Are older Megabass rods still worth it?
I'm kinda interested to try an older Megabass rod. Models that were released prior to 2007. How do they fare for today standards? Are they "still" sensitive enough? Weren't they a little bit too heavy? The two models i have my eyes on is the F5.1/2-68 Xti Diablo and the F5 1/2-68XFti Diabl...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
#8 and #10 braid works perfectly for me. i never go over #10 on these spool and always use braid with a fluoro leader. i'm mainly using them on an FX for the 3d braking and the control is almost perfect. i have two spools, one which i fixed the inductor in the extended position and the other is unmo...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
The star drag looks pretty good, wish they had them for the alphas/pixy platform. I believe they are compatable. The Alphas SV and Air are listed and the T3s is listed as well. My Alpahs SV drag star (hate that ugly thing) and T3 ballistic drag stars are interchangeable so I can't imagine this carb...

I liked the older models released prior to 2009-2010. Not a fan of the ones we have now.
