Re: Pflueger anti-reverse problems in the cold....
It could just be a dirty bearing. Had that happen to me in some older Shimano and Shakespeare reels that I ice fish with.

I got it now. Use that hollow core braid and stick some mono into it.

Re: Line suggestion for finesse baitcasting
I disagree with all of u! Well except that I agree that Flash did come off like Roscoe.
What are we talking about? Oh yeah, I got 6# Gamma copolymer on my CU50E, but it's really for our smaller northern bass of less then 18".

Maybe try some fly head cement the line. It will take a little time to dry it.

Re: Chronarch 100D7 and Curado 50E Spool Bearings
The ARB bearings in the D7 is better or at least performs better than the stainless steel bearings. I did a temporary one day bearing swap and put the D7 bearings into my CU50E and it performed better.

Re: Catching fish on BBZ-1 Shad
LOL. I used it in places where I typically fish for smallies with a spinnerbait and I got fish. So it could be a location thingy. I guess it's because of a shad feed. I'm still trying to do the imitation dying shad technique of twitch and pause. Maybe next spring I might get fish on that.

Re: Reel Magic
I saw no improvements on good lines with either Reel Magic or KVD L&L, but only placebo effect for the first few casts. I will say, that both products destroys line if used for ice fishing in subfreezing temps. Except for braids, but that's another problem in itself for ice fishing.

Re: PROBLEMS THROWING BBZ-1 SHAD
I'm not experiencing that or not noticing that. Maybe because the Trutungsten Shads do a lot more tumbling in the cast. I'm sure the lure will tumble but I'm not seeing the line twists.

Re: What do you think is ultralight?
By equipment specs for freshwater fishing that I do. I don't really use the ultralight stuff. I use the lite stuff. Spinning reels that are Shimano 1000 size reels. Rods that are St.Croix lite power. This is the stuff I use for stocked trout and crappie fishing.
