Point Blank Rod Review

I purchased a Point Blank PB691MXF rod back in January and had a local rod builder set it up. I was looking for a blank that was very lightweight and could handle 1/8 to 1/2 ounce jigheads and texas rigs. I wanted a simple build to keep the weight down and wanted a spiral wrap on the rod. It has a F...

First Tournament Ever

Fishing in my first tournament this weekend and I want to hear the advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time and talk to yourself before your first tournament. Help me avoid some of the newb pitfalls!

Re: Chode: Feedback Request Topic

Fantastic guy to do business with. Product was exactly as advertised and the shipment was super fast and the rod was in perfect shape. Would do business with him again in a heartbeat. Bought the rod on a Monday, got it Wednesday at lunch!

Re: 13 fishing concept reels, whos fishing them?

It did change the finish, but nothing drastic. Just the way I hold the reel put the hard corner in a weird spot on my hand. You only notice it when fighting a fish, but it was an easy fix. I like it much better than my tatula. I would trade the tatula for another concept a in a heartbeat.

Re: 13 fishing concept reels, whos fishing them?

I have a Concept A. I took some 200 grit sandpaper and ground down the palming side and now it is one of my favorite reels. It casts beautifully, has a wonderful drag, and is a very comfortable size. I have used it for bass, redfish, and speckled trout and have never had a problem with it.

Try the Kistler KLX. I have been very impressed with mine.

Re: 2016 Zillion SV TWS

I'm not going to hijack this thread, but I do like this new Point Blank rod. Once I get some more time in with it, I'm going to post some pictures and a review.

I've been real impressed with this reel so far too. It throws a 1/4 ounce texas rig a long ways!

Nice looking reel. It definitely looks smaller than the Tatula variants.

Re: Sunline Armilo

I use it with all my topwater and suspending baits. Also throw my lipless cranks with it. I have even used it for working a texas rig, in a pinch. No matter what I have used it for, I have always been impressed.

Re: Gliss - What do you think?

I received a spool of the 40 lb gliss for Christmas and I like it, so far. I spooled it on my Concept A and have fished a few times with it, mainly throwing rattle traps. I plan on using it more for jigging and maybe some topwater, but the rattletrap bite has been hot at my pond, so that's what I'm ...

Re: What inshore reel?

I used my 13 Concept A on my inshore trip last year, the month of May, to be exact. Washed it off after the trip and it has performed flawlessly ever since. I recently took some fine grit sandpaper and ground down the hard edge on the non handle side. The reel is even better now!

Re: What inshore reel?

Thanks for all the replies! Since I only go saltwater on spring break once a year (but fish everyday all week) I should try a hybrid reel and just clean it really well when done. That way I can use it for cranking in freshwater the other 90% of the time. I still want a zillion but don't want to sub...

Do we even know if this reel is going to be offered in the U.S.A or is it only a JDM reel?

Thank you, I am going to try this as soon as I get a chance.
