Re: The new new Zillion

If this reel has a smaller frame than the Tatula reels, I am going to give it a try. The size of the Tatula is the only thing I don't like about it.

Re: 13 Fishing Reels

The only issue I have with this reel is the fact that there is a sharp edge on the palming side at the top of the reel... I echo everything you've said, including the sharp edge on the side plate. I actually used some sand paper to round it off some, which helped a lot. Well now that I know someone...

Re: 13 Fishing Reels

I have one 13 fishing reel, the Concept A in the 8.1:1 ratio, and I love it. It casts great, has a wonderful drag, is very small and easy to palm, and has had zero durability issues. I fish in small farm ponds at least once a week and make a couple of inshore flats trips every year. The reel has bee...

Re: Tatula or Lew's

I have a Tatula and Team Lews Pro. If I had to sell one of the two, it would definitely be the Tatula. I have larger than average hands and the Tatula is not easy to palm. Casting difference between the two is negligible and I have had zero problems with either reel. Performance wise, I would have a...

Re: Hammer Rods - First Impression

With the parabolic action, can any of these rods be used as a rod to work 3/8 to 5/8 texas rigs and jigs?

Re: Super Natural for topwater?

I have some Armilo Defier that I have been extremely pleased with. It's been my favorite line for open water topwater baits and I have been completely satisfied with every aspect of its performance. It casts great on my baitcasters, has very little stretch (especially for a mono), has great knot str...

Re: prop baits

I know it's a saltwater company, but if you can find any, Mirrolure MirroProps work pretty well. They have a good shape and are plenty stout enough for bass.

Re: Chronarch E vs Chronarch CI4

Thanks for the info on the spool and corrosion. I will check my spool tonight and see which one I have.

Re: Chronarch E vs Chronarch CI4

A lot more people seem to like the CI4+. It's about an ounce lighter, has x-ship and one more bearing than the 51E. I was in the same boat not too long ago but I've heard that for whatever reason, the CI4+ didn't fare too well in saltwater (CI4+ is obviously corrosion free so it must be the steel c...

Re: TT Reels Shootout - Getting Complacent?

Are 13 reels and Lews reels the bottom tier of reels? I'm seriously asking, because most customer reviews on those reels seem to be really complementary. Where does Abu Garcia fit in? I consider the $150-$250 range to be the meat of the market. I always considered bottom tier to be the entry level r...

Re: Sunglasses

I have some Costa 580 green mirror lenses. I've never owned another brand, so I can't say they are any better than any others, but I do know they work exceptionally well for me. I farm and they have held up well to the dust and dirt that comes along with my job. I do have two small spots on the lens...

I used my Costa 580 green mirror lenses in the Exhumas for bonefish and they worked excellently for me.

I think the durability is the key. That being said, Manns plastic has always seemed to be of a more durable nature to me.
