Re: Your most versatile rod?
Short of throwing my 1/16 finesse lures and my 2-4ounce swimbaits, I use my Shimano Ultima 170m and 170mh for everything else. My MB Super Diablo C40 is one of my fav versatile rod, too.

My preference is the NRX 843 MBR with its fast taper which is more an apples to apples comparison to the ASL7005X. The 853 is extra fast which Megabass doesn't really do bar the X7 Bearingdown Type X. If the ASL7005X is more a match to the NRX 854 then I have other stuff to cover that weight range....

Same here. some fat mono ( 2' leader) at the end of braid does the trick for me.Scattergun2570 wrote:braid to a leader like everything else.

Re: A good day of bass fishing, what does it take?
I'm curious to know what expectations you have when prepping to fish, and what it means to have a good day of fishing. For example, I fish a lake in the Brainerd area that doesn't get much fishing pressure, so I can reasonably expect to hit 14-17 lbs for a half day on the lake. Which I think is pre...

Re: What's your thoughts on bed fishing?
Most of us have done it I'm sure but isn't it detrimental to the future bass population from the trauma caused to the fish and the heightened chances they abandon the beds? Should it be made illegal for tournaments since there isn't any real skills involved? All one has to do is toss the lure on th...
