Re: New reel

I have that rod and reel......makes an excellent combo, but I actually prefer a Curado 200B on that rod because I use bigger line on jigs and prefer the line cap. and stronger feel of the 200B......but you'd be quite pleased with the 50Mg and the 854.

Re: Down with "poodle grips" !

Although I use several split gripped rods, I prefer full grip. Split grips really just dont do a thing for me because I dont buy rods to look cool; like some others. For me, the perfect rod is built like a Kistler Helium LTA: full rear grip, no foregrip. I plan on custom ordering a Kistler Helium II...

Re: Kistler going with Fuji?

The rod diameter of the Kistler LTA near the tip was much bigger then I'd expected when I purchased last Winter. Bigger then any of the 20 rods /7 brands I own. I haven't noticed that with the 12 Kistlers I have....What model are you talking about? Mine are all on par with every other brand rod I o...

Re: Pitching line.

15lb P-Line CXX b/c it is super tough or 25lb MGC b/c it handles well and has a small diameter.

I like to start with a Brush Hog, if that doesnt work I like a ribbon tail worm, then I will use a Senko.

Re: Boyd Duckett talks about his Classic win and the Revo's.

While I admire the Revos 20+lb drag pressure I dont think its as useful as most think. You only need so much drag presure. How many people actually use 20lb (or more) braid most the time (aside from me  ) even with my 20lb test braid id only want a max of 10lbs of drag pressure. Unless your pu...
