Re: knob replacement

Thanks. You guys are amazing! It's like having Google for reel parts, but having it do a smart search.

knob replacement

I have several Chronarch MG 50 reels, and some Quantum and Lew's reels, that need new knobs.
The Chronarchs are riveted, but the others can be removed and replaced.
The knobs that need replacing are soft rubber, and worn.
What can I replace them with that will still be soft, but hold up better?

Re: Why

I use 8 Lew's Team Gold's all tuned and they sit on custom Big Bear Rods. I like when I pick one up off the deck they all feel exactly the same and they didn't cost me a fortune. I've wanted a high end Combo to play with and my wife made it happen for my Christmas gift. She got me a LIN Black Jungl...

Re: Why

I wonder if it's in us genetically, left over from the family/clan, us vs. them thing that seems to fuel sports rivalries so fiercely?
Or is it just trying to feel good about the decisions we make concerning tackle, and taking it too far?

Re: reel ratio's

That is some beautiful country right there!
Have you tried drop shotting with a light sinker and longer leader? I do that when we do have grass, and use an offset hook so I can rig my worm to be weedless.

Why

I read how emotional and defensive people get about their particular choice of reel, or rod for that matter, and I wonder why?

Re: Chatterbait Rod and Line

If you go to 50lb braid, you won't get broken off, and you can use any med. heavy rod. If a fish wraps you around a piece of wood, you're never going to force it out. All you can do is let it have some slack, and hope it unwinds itself and swims out. Of course, you can always dive down and free it! ...

Re: Last minute finesse baitcaster

Not saying the Pixy R isn't a great reel but Im gonna say this reel will out perform the Pixy for the weights he specified and be within the price range of reels he was looking at. http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/@0_mall/axiasports/cabinet/purefishing/img61378867.jpg?_ex=330x330 http://global....

Re: reel ratio's

All my reels are 6.2 and up. Catching up to a fish for a good hookset is key, and faster reels do that for me. For deep diving cranks, I feel the bottom and just reel it so it stays in contact, digging, not burning. Same with worms and jigs. I'm feeling the bottom all the time, so I don't even pay a...

Re: Why doesn't Daiwa face the TWS grooving issue?(with pics

when the reel is engaged, look at the twing. peel off drag and you will see exactly how the grooves happen. i love daiwa reels, but this is a big design flaw. there isnt a simple solution like putting on a metal plate like the t3 Seems like a "simple" solution would be to make a channel on the insi...

Re: need user feedback on gen 3 revo premier and/or revo mgx

I have two Gen 2 Premiers, and bought 2 Gen 3's. I sold the Gen 3's and kept the Gen 2's. I never got comfortable with the larger (to me) and higher sitting Gen 3's.
I still use the Gen 2's for reaction baits and topwaters.

lexa 100

The blurb on the TW site for this reels says it's great for really light baits.
Has anyone here fished one yet, and if so, do they throw light stuff well?

I just read the lexa thread below this one. Sorry to post this duplication.
