Re: Stripping powder coat on jigs
On the weedguards, unfortunately I don't think you will be able to pull them out without destroying them. But once you get them out, the stripping part will be a breeze. The stripper will also remove the epoxy as well. On the washed out look, sounds like you might not have enough powder paint on the...

Re: Stripping powder coat on jigs
If the jigs are good and only a bad paint job, then I would strip as well. No point in melting them down and re-pouring. Get some paint stripper (I use the 15 minute). Pour paint stripper in a bowl and put the jigs in there. You can do several at a time if you don't want to waste the stripper, or do...

Re: Lobina Rio Rico - Are They Really That Effective?
This is just my personal opinion, but I wouldn't spend $20 for a bait. Fish would have to be jumping in my boat for that. So I'll stick with my $5 Chug Bug and call it a day. My theory is this, you can buy a $500 Steez reel and a $400 Steez rod, do you catch more fish? Just sayin'.

Re: "Matte" or "Flat" colored jigs
I have powder painted many flat black jigs on top with a blue gloss bottom along with all flat black for various people. These guys swear by it. However I am very skeptical. If I recall, I read somewhere that if you put a flat black panel in a bowl of water, the paint looks glossy. With that said, i...

Re: Unpainted vs painted jig heads
I wouldn't worry about painting them, they will get bit. If you want you can pull the weedguards out, paint the jig and then glue in new weedguards. Or you can take the jigs as they are and paint them with some nail polish, let it dry and put the skirt back on. You'll be good to go.

I can help you out. They last forever, yes remove them before you bake your jigs. I can send you a free sample if you like to see how it works, plus I also have a tutorial about it. PM me your e-mail or phone number.

Re: Getting jigs out of the mold
Franklin Aresenal Dropout or PB Blaster Dry Graphite Lube, either of those sprayed lightly into the cavities will not only have your jigs fall out of the mold, it will also lessen the amount of incomplete pours if you have that happen. I've been pouring jigs and spinnerbait head for over 15 years a...

Re: Owner Deep Throat Jig Hooks
For those that are nervous, the #5304 deep throat hooks are still available and just as good as they have always been. I've been making jigs using those hooks and haven't had a problem. Also jigs with those hooks will always be available. Just because one company doesn't use them, doesn't mean that ...
