Re: Cranking It Up with Spro's John Crew's Fat John 60
Always liked the look & design of the crews crankbaits, spent a decent amount of time throwing them- but for whatever reason they never produced well for me. Similar experience with the imma shaker(which the shallow crews kind of reminded me of). They look like they should be good fish catchers but ...

Re: Good allround spool for T3 MX?
The 1016 G1 SV spool has been so good in my SS/SV (and obviously in stock Zillion SV TW's) that I plan on ordering a second one just because. Would like to keep a backup with 30lb braid on it to compliment the current setup of 14lb fluorocarbon. Man.. you really like talking about that ss/sv  ...

Re: Frankensteining the SV103...
The magnets are not the issue with reel feeling over braked. It’s the inductor on the stock spool. That’s why I’ve been running the Zillion SV spool. It opens the 103 up emmensley. I concur. Much easier to find a spool with the appropriate sized inductor. More than plenty of spools readily availabl...

Re: Frankensteining the SV103...
Rain let up so I got a chance to do some yard casting. Good news: it casts great! Bad news: there's a substantial spool/frame gap on the palm side of the frame, that the stock sv103 brake housing lip filled, zillion doesn't. You can see in this pic the protruding lip of the stock sv103 playe(in the ...

Re: Frankensteining the SV103...
*Side note- the sv103 plate didn't seem to want to swing into place on the zillion. Perhaps it'll fit with some fidgeting but I didn't want to force it.
(Not that it matters as the goal was to fit the zillion brakes on the sv103, not the other way around. Just putting it out there fyi)

Frankensteining the SV103...
For maximum potential. With talk of them being over-braked, I got to messing around... https://i.imgur.com/57AcNLp.jpg See where I'm going with this? The zillion side plate mounts right up. More specifically, the zillion brake magnets. So with that quick swap, now I have an SV103, with OG Zil...

This is AWESOME! I’ve been watching all of the videos non stop since I saw your post! Btw quick question does anyone know where I can find those Daiwa Baits? Really interested in those! Nice! Most likely the usual jdm sources will be your best bet. Try Plat, ichiban tackle, samurai tackle, Japan lu...

Love me some td-zs http://i63.tinypic.com/osxruv.jpg Oh man, those are glorious! That majorzza green spool in the green ize looks phenomenal!! Really digging the cork knobs, drag stars, etc. Very subtle additions but they really look amazing, I can see you put a lot of time & thought in those. Awes...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103
When I used to bank beat with a few spools, I used pill bottles or vitamin bottles with some foam in them. Hit the dollar store or a flea market, you can find lots of perfect size bottles.
(I keep my hooks & weights in pill bottles too)

My new favorite jdm YouTube channel
Check out this YouTube channel- at first glance, it looks like every other jdm 'lure news' channel, showcasing lures. But, oh contraire! Click on a video, and it's that lure being worked in an aquarium, on just about every possible rigging option imaginable! And he's rigging em up right, no quick sn...
