Re: Budget Cranking Rod

Dude, the 7'7" glass tat is awesome for cranks. The tip is buttery soft, not stiff like the graphite. I don't use it for spinnerbaits because I don't feel like it's powerful enough to set a single hook like that, but it's awesome for the cranks in the 1/4-3/4 range you're wanting to throw. It has a ...

Re: Conquest 100hg came in (size comparison)

That is one awesome reel. I got a td Luna 103L not too long ago which I think is about the same size as that conquest and I'm a huge fan. The craftsmanship involved in making the round reels is truly artisanal. They are definitely not easy to put down. Plus they help balance out tip heavy composite ...

Re: Zillion HD

Does that not answer your question? There are obviously features that differentiate the HD from the standard model.

Re: Zillion HD

The zillion tws reels have larger diameter spools to begin with. That's why they take up more line than a tatula of the same ratio.

Re: BFS Rod ... Which one would you use ?

Yeah, man. They're sweet. There's a USDM sort of mag baitfinesse rod now based on the nano ace. It looks pretty basic with AlO2 guides (no k frame) and an ecs reel seat. It's only 119.00 though. 6'10" xfast 1/16-3/8. Hopefully they sell well so they will decide to bring the speed style line over here.

Re: steez / MB IS reels vs. brackish water

I've heard that as long as the finish is intact and you keep it rinsed out you don't have to worry, but you wouldn't catch me anywhere near salt with a Mg reel, not that I don't have to worry about that here in OK.

Re: New Zillion Rods

Its the UPGRADED component and blank version of the infamous Randy Howell-2014-7 foot Tatula ---shorter handled crank/jerkbait rod with a moderate action. Have not fished it...but have fished the Tatula version...very nice rod....can be found for under $200 and the tatula version can be found in th...

I don't think there's any way you'll cast all the 50# braid off that HD spool. I think that's exactly what that model is intended for.

Re: BFS Rod ... Which one would you use ?

I decided to go with the major craft speed style 6'8 light two piece . Got it for $185 shipped ... Seemed to be a new model for major craft and looks cool . 1/16 to 1/4 oz and 4-12 lb I believe . Rod looks great ! Yeah, those just came out. I think that's the volkey replacement. Be sure and let us ...

Re: BFS Rod ... Which one would you use ?

I was thinking about buying it on eBay for $170 unless you have a better suggestion where to purchase ? Thanks btw :) That's where I got mine, only they were $150. Fast shipping and everything arrived intact. They tape the rod, which is in its nylon case and a plastic bag, to a shower curtain rod a...

4.3 oz or 123g. 7 seas tackle is a good resource for major craft rod specs. They weigh every rod.

Re: Tat711mhrb v 721mhrb

I know I'd love one of those 721mhrb-g rods for deep cranks. I'd slap a TD Luna 203L on it and slap some bottom hugging bass in the face!
