Re: Pflueger Supreme XT Backreel Problem
I own several XT's and have had them all stripped down to the frame. You will need to remove the rotor to start diagnosis. Reference the schematic here - - - http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/albums/userpics/SUPREME_XT_9235.pdf Item 44 is the one way clutch pack. Item 45 is the spring for th...

Re: Reel for an Fenwick Elite Tech Spinning rod
Sorry to hijack but...hey ULJersey...give a letter grade to your Fenwick, and a letter grade to your Presso. I'm debating the 2. Keeping within the context of these are what I consider "middle of the pack" rods, I'll give the Fenwick a B+, and the Daiwa a C+ The Fenwick would have been an 'A' had i...

Re: Reel for an Fenwick Elite Tech Spinning rod
I like it a lot. For me at least, it has everything I want in a UL rod, which is a nice crisp action, but enough backbone to handle the occasional large fish. As far as sensitivity, I don't fish a lot of bottom contact baits with UL, so I cant go on and on about felling the difference between oak b...

Re: Reel for an Fenwick Elite Tech Spinning rod
The 1000 size Fuego would certainly work. I own a UL 6' 8" Elite Tech. Great rod at it's price point, although the market is loaded with many great $100 range rods right now. I seem to be the resident Pflueger guy on this forum, so no suprise where my loyalties lie. It's tough to beat the basic Supr...

Re: Ultralight walk the dog topwater?
Welcome to the boards Cheyne. Always good to have another voice here. If possible, post pics of your gear, baits, caught fish, your dog, whatever :D It's winter here, so I have to fish vicariously through other members for a few more weeks ... You've probably seen the misc neat thread, post some pic...

Re: Controlling a Kayak
Anchor trolley ...
The anchor rope goes through the ring on the trolley. Moving the trolley fore or aft changes the pivot (or fulcrum) point, thus rotating the kayak to the desired position.

Re: Bitsy minnow @ walmart
I'm going to give them a shot. Often silent baits are better under certain conditions, although no bait is truly silent once you factor in hooks and split rings thrashing about.
I will probably drill one or two open and fill with styrofoam to weight it a bit and keep it buoyant.

Re: Help for an UL Newbie
I like Pfluegers myself, and no doubt the Patriarch is a very nice chunk, but don't overlook the the Supremes (silver MG series & the very slightly nicer XT's) - - - the 25 size is where you want to be. For a rod that behaves well beyond it's price point, the Fenwick Elite Tech River Runner series i...

Re: A Public Apology
And to you sir, might I suggest that you start your own forum ? Surely a man of superior intelligence such as yourself does not belong here with the unwashed hoi polloi ... you could perhaps start a fishing forum wherein potential participants must solve complex mathematical and physics exercises in...

Re: Bitsy minnow @ walmart
Check them out closely when you get them out of the package. I got a couple recently that don't have the rattle in them. I'm not going to take them back, I'm going to see how they run. If they track well, they could be a silent killer. If not, I will experiment with them. Either way, $3.00 is a good...

Re: First fish of 2013
uljersey, Have you ever fished either Alloway Lake or Lake Lenape. Heard some good things from the South Jersey Biologist. Not looking for details just if you have fished it and done anything. Ranger 619VS/brian No, have never fished either one. I have a big list of places I want to try, I need to ...
