Re: Edge inshore 6'6" light
There is a 7'3" ML Mag Bass rod still in stock for $230. I almost wish I had looked before I bought the 6'6" rod.

Re: Edge inshore 6'6" light
Looks like I picked up the last one this afternoon. :big grin: When I looked, it said "hurry, last one!". The original Phenix UMBX had a very similar reel seat to this one, only it was a split seat. The trigger part was offset of the center and I loved everything about it-except that it was a split ...

I was one of the people who posted your vid, and oh boy did i pay the price. Got talked down and deleted for posting nonsense content that "only contains someone's opinion and nothing more" I didn’t get talked down but my post also was deleted when I linked the video. Glenn is a thoroughbred idiot....

I would also replace the spool pin, as its likely chewed up, too.iabass8 wrote:Main gear and pinion. Part #s are in the schematic in the box. Order from daiwa.

Re: New Tatula 150
Nope, same frame. I put 5.x:1 gears in an HD for a friend. They are dimensionally the same, but the HD gears are supposed to be tougher. Probably hardened brass on both gears. I believe the pinion on the standard Tatula is tempered phosphor bronze....but dont quote me on that lol! Solid joke. Glad ...

Why not just get a set of 6.x or 5.x gears for your Tatula HD?DirtyD64 wrote:.... but just really wish I had a Curado K or Tatula CT-R in a 6 speed rather than the 7.3HD for cranking.

Which model? I have the previous version and it is a solid reel. I have no experience with the newest LT model, but I have heard very positive things about the LT reels from top to bottom.

Re: Shimano’s Budget offerings
I would agree with that, especially since they quit making any aluminum-frame reels below the Curado. The Citica/Curado E series was the last I owned, but I have used a few of their current offerings, including the Casitas you mentioned. Underwhelmed is how I felt after I used it. The Lews reel is ...

Re: Have you ever broke the plastic gearing of the worm gear?
There is a reason that gear is plastic on levelwind reels. There were instances of the line guide pinching fingers and the metal-to-metal gears like the old round Abu reels simply wouldn't budge and allow the trapped finger to escape. It is a safety feature. If you wear one of those gears out, lmk. ...

Re: Affordable bfs rods???
Deinitely check out Major Craft rods. Great rods for the price. For the $120 price point, you're looking at 2 piece rods in a couple of their series. Howver, don't be off put by the 2 piece rods. I had one for a while and had no problems with it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Major-Craft-FIRSTCAST-2-pie...
