Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest

You got me excited. I’m hoping the 5 power Zbone has more power then my 894 I think you’ll find exactly that. I’ve found no job “too big” for this rod bass fishing in the most choked out lakes you can imagine in FL. I think the new 5 zbone hands down has more power than conquest 904 and several her...

What have you been throwing on the 71h ??
Frogs; large wake baits; heavy vibrating and swim jigs with large profile trailers.

You can also bounce a jig on the bottom with it and feel plenty.

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest

I have the 7-6 LE-5 Z-Bone and the CNQ 904. Both are great rods. They are neck and neck as far as sensitivity. With the Z-Bone being on sale, you can't go wrong. Very good information. Thank you, TommyG! Z bone owner Tried one. Not impressed Seems they kept the Z and gave me the bone I prefer the H...

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest

I also have the same two rods as TommyG. They have such different tapers and fulfill such different roles in my hands that it’s hard to compare them for me sensitivity wise; but both are top notch in the department. The heavier feeling z bone is a flat out broomstick in my opinion, but that’s the po...

Re: Valkyries

I’ve fished my 71h now since the week they became available at TTT and still really like the rod. It’s become a staple. By far my favorite of the newer gen MB rods. The 71h doesn’t seem to get much attention, but I find it well balanced for a h rod, great taper, and I love the spiral wrap. It might ...

Re: Megabass Vision 110 - Best Color?

Thanks; I’ll give it a look. Yeah; GG bass is just a shinny gold blob in the water. GG shad is a dead ringer for a FL strain baby bass. I sometimes get bites only after a 10-15 Mississippi dead sticking next to docks. I like them to look real in those cases since I’ve caught some of the fish in my l...

Re: A Lesson Worth Sharing

I’m actually shocked to see this topic on TT. I thought I might be the only crazy one after switching to Evergreen. Had lots of MB variants over the years but I liked my first EG more than any of them... then the second was even better... then the... (you get the picture). Megabass has al...

Do you feel like it could handle 1/2oz cranks or stick to something more like 3/8oz (not deep divers).
Yes; i think it could.

Re: Megabass Vision 110 - Best Color?

This is my new favorite 110 color. I know, a 110 any colorways can catch 'em, but it's all about confidence and this one has mine. It's called GG Shad and looks about as close to a real baby bass as I've seen in a 110. It's part of the "Respect" color series MB has had out recently. Found them at ho...

Re: Megabass jota slantbridge

Yes; I have the stage II. I didn’t mention earlier, but I’ve even bounced small creatures on the shoreline with it and it did fine. It’s no dedicated jig rod; but I’ve taken it on shoreline walks with a tackle bag as my single rod and have been able to throw a lot of different stuff depending on con...

Re: Megabass jota slantbridge

I have the slightly less desirable newer version with the cork and acs seat, but I think the blank is similar to yours. It’s also a slant. Yeah; I think it’s quite versatile and I like it when I want to go to a shorter rod. I’ve thrown all kinds of smallish treble baits with it and found it works th...

Re: New Antares

I came across the instagram page of decadeworks (Kota Kasai). Tons of finished reel photos are posted. The matte paint and finishes he puts on the Antares are remarkable. Really brings out the reel’s design in my opinion.
