Re: Personal Best
Very nice fish. Definitely a good one to start the year off. My first few this year have been dinks!

Re: Pflueger Patriarch XT Casting Reel handle,
Any other Pflueger, Abu Garcia, or BPS grips will fit the handle. Shimano grips will not. You can order the grips through Pure Fishing, or buy a replacement handle from BPS's website for like $10, and swap the grips.

Re: New Prolite Special at Bass Pro
This prolite special doesn't have dual cast control, as the previous prolite finesse did. It's a special purchase item, and isn't very similar to the old one at all. The breaking system on this guy most closely resembles a daiwa reel, with a fixed inductor and a magnet inside. I'll take some picture...

The green and black td-z and the shimano would be Pizz Customs. I don't know pizz personally, but have seen him around this and other forums, and he seems to be a pretty good guy. I know the work he does is stunning.

Re: Is the advantage 150 platform the same as the alphas 150
Not that I'm aware of. I know the Alphas/Sol work pretty good together, but I think all you have for the advantage is the new HSTA advantage and the Tierra. Not many options for the Advantage.

Nice. Those old Abu roundies have an abundance of upgrades that can be done. Got any pics of this monster? I'd like to see it with the handle and knobs.

Re: Painted Reels sticky...gone but not forgotten
Thanks. I figure it was a good way to make a $9 reel look and perform a lot better. The handle is a 100mm I found, from some old browning reel, and the star drag and tension cap are from the same reel. I replaced the bushing under the tension cap with a bearing, and put 4 more in the handle, two in ...

Re: Dobyns DX701C and Inshore Fun
No problem man...I don't know where he was catching them, but this is his dad's charter company. http://www.amicksdeepseafishing.com/ He says all the captains they have working for them are pretty good, but he usually only works in the summer. I don't know about HHI, but I know Savannah has some pre...

Re: Dobyns DX701C and Inshore Fun
Thanks for the info. :D I hope they are out at Hilton head, need to do some research... I know the bite about 45 minutes south in Savannah is good, if you know where to go. A local guide is probably your best bet. A buddy of mine who does charters was pullin in a few last weekend in the 30"-...
