Valdiva is 7'6 so it's not a short rod either. I don't have that rod but I do have the FMJ and XXPP. The power is similar but the XXPP has a softer tip. Can anyone explain the characteristics of this rod like power, tape, working a lure, and on load? I already have a jerkbait rod but from handling one time at a shop I feel the rod can do much more. Anyone else has this rod and use it for something else?

Probably one of my most used rods last year. I use it for 3/16 - 3/8 + worm Texas rig in no cover to moderate cover. It's light at 4.3oz, crisp, and nice ergonomics. It's the rod missing from the JDM line I've been after in terms of length, power, and taper.

I've tried 1oz 20ft diving cranks on the Javelin and the rod handles it just fine. I feel it's half power beefier than Nautilus when on load.
