Re: Daiwa Rod fan...Save me from myself or give me some insi

i have no experience with the new ceilo rods, but i wasn't real crazy about the ballistics. actually i do like the 6'9" mh, but i like it as a spinnerbait rod. casting is easy because it is fast action, but it bends deep down into the blank more like a crank rod (which i prefer for sb's) when a fish...

Re: Spinnerbait rod

i'm using a daiwa ballistic 6'9" mh for spinnerbaits. i originally got the rod for t-rigs but it just didn't have "it" for that application. i decided to try a spinnerbait on it and glad i did. the tip reacts like a fast action rod, but hooked up it bends pretty deep, which i like with all moving ba...

Re: Daiwa Ballistic Casting Rods?

i've got the 6'9" mh and the 7'1" h powered rods. i'm not using the 7'1" right now, it's a bit stiffer and heavier than i was hoping. the 6'9" doesn't have as much power as i was hoping for either. it's on the lighter side of the mh range to me, and it bends deep when hooked up. i originally planned...

Re: Compile X owners/users chime in

i had the 7'1" for couple of years and never had any problems with it not being sensitive. i only sold it because of financial reasons, not because i didn't love the rod. the 7' mh was the same way also.

Re: ICAST 2012 Rods

i wonder if i got a defective 6'9" mh ballistic? it really doesn't have much backbone to me, in fact mine feels like a stiff m powered rod. it has turned out to be a fantastic spinnerbait rod though since it seems to be fast tipped yet it'll bend deep when hooking a fish.

Re: Micro guides: Worth the hype?

i've only had a few rods with micros with mixed results. i had a rogue custom build with batson minis that worked out great other than i didn't really like the blank, i've had 3 different bps carbonlite rods with micros that didn't work for me at all, and i currently have a mhx mb843 with i believe ...

Re: Anyone else hate braid?

only info i got from sunline is the line should be available august or september, 10#-50# sizes, and only in green. i can't really figure out why these companies (spiderwire included with the fluorobraid) wouldn't make the line in a hi-vis color or at least just white. you can always color line but ...

Re: Anyone else hate braid?

Also, interesting to hear about a new sinking braid? Sunline SX-1? I'm sure there's more info on it somewhere on TT but it's the first I've seen it mentioned. http://blog.wired2fish.com/blog/bid/74562/Why-Braid-Will-Make-You-a-Better-Finesse-Angler like i said above, a good sinking braid would be a...
