Re: Spray lubricant for reels
I wouldn't spray your reel with the white lithium...that'd be like spraying it with whipped butter and about as messy to get off. That is a kind of creamy white thicker consistency grease that's made to stay where is sprayed...like car door hinges and things like that. Definitely test that on someth...

Re: Defier Monofilament vs Super Natural Monofilament
There's simply no other line I've ever used or heard about that is as smooth feeling (between fingers), smooth casting, little to zero memory as Defier. It's only downfall is sensitivity and that's because it's mono. There are more abrasion resistance mono like Defier Armilo but there's a sacrifice ...

Re: Reel Decision
I haven't had or used either but I cycle through more reels than I care to admit...many of which I end up rebuying.
I'd ask yourself the question this way...if you're happy with the condition of both reels, which is easier to find in that condition at a later date should you want one again.

Re: NASCI...2500 v. 3000...Can someone please clarify?
A 3000 and 4000 should be different size bodies. The 10.4oz should be the 4000. The 8.8 should be correct for the 3000. The C3000 which is what the Nasci has listed will have the 2500 body and a 3000 spool with the T knob. Nearly any Shimano knob will work, you won't need the entire handle. Look for...

Re: Shimano NASCI 2500 vs. 3000
I would get the 2500 unless you need that much line capacity for some reason. If you want the 2500 size with the faster gear ratio, you can order it from Japan http://www.digitaka.com/item.php?item=133403 . Most knobs are removable so you should be able to to put a different one on or add bearings. ...

Re: EVA Foam Handle Knobs for Curado 200e7 ?
Any Shimano size A knobs will fit...That's nearly all the freshwater sized reels. So the EVA from the Sustain or prior gen Stradic CI4 will work. Here's a fitting chart http://japantackle.com/Shimano_knob_size_chart And there's these reputable sites for starters http://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/prod...

Same here. Since you plan on using spinnerbaits and rattle baits I'd go HG. For everything else you listed I'd generally prefer the XG.

Re: Stella or new vanquish
Yes the spool is the same diameter as the c2000hgs just taller along with a smaller rotary and a 2000 sized body. It's an awesome reel from the looks and feel of it. It balances freak with my st croix legends elite 7ft ML and my G.loomis tar 862-2 GLX. That's the same size Stella I plan on getting....

Re: BASS lifts 8' for rule
Hopefully blank designers do something interesting with the tapers other than taking their 8' blanks and making them 9' and 10' then telling me how far I'll be able to cast...anyone looking to get their cranks deeeeeep long lines anyway...1 to 2 extra feet on a rod won't change that. Flipping blanks...

Re: St Croix LEC68MF Guide measurements
You could look for the Legend Elite rod that is being replaced. The former Elite (with the Fuji ACS reel seat) had the traditional style and size Fuji L guides. Those would be large enough to pass any knots through.

Re: Question on Shimano septon knobs
I've read they're the same but I seem to recall the older ones being more gray. They feel the same though...and yeah...sunscreen and some bug spray makes them gooey!...some sunglass lenses too
