Re: Smoothest and longer casting braid´s

Suffix 832 is great value, I use it now on all my baitcasters. I tried Power Pro but only use it on spin gear now. Castaway is good braid but dearer than 832. You can get it from some of the Japanese sites at reasonable price though.

Re: Buying Tackle Online...Yes or No??

I still like to try and support my local tackle store, there's still the social aspect of that here. I do get a bit online mainly from Tackle Wharehouse and Ichiban. However as I live in Australia the shipping costs from places like Cabela's and Bass Pro are just crazy! They talk about 45% of the do...

Re: Stren Sonic Braid questions and more...

Poor old Hogsticker must be running in ever diminishing circles by now, and tearing out what's left of his hair. I still stick with 832, especially on bait casters. I really like the way it comes off the spool and get minimum backlash problems. I can't see any reason why I would buy PP again, I reck...

Re: tipping

I think an important aspect of tipping is the size of your own pocket, and whether or not you're being generous is relative to your income. I'd hate to be considered cheap if I saved for a trip and just couldn't afford a nice tip. Paying the price should be sufficient, and then you just tip whateve...

That's probably why there's so many aftermarket trebles to chose from.

I curious, how did you break a Citica handle? They're pretty solid. [-X

No8 Tackle Company, surely that says it all. I'll bet Daiwa and Shimano are really concerned?

Big on bling, short on sting! Probably has a bamboo main gear and cardboard drag washers. :P

I nearly did that to one of my fishing mates once. Gotta watch the back cast. :-k

I never tie braid directly to the terminal gear, always a flouro leader.

When you make provision in your will to have a "Viking Funeral" with you and all your gear loaded onto your boat, and the whole thing set on fire as it drifts over your favourite weed bed. [-o< [-o<

Re: Line Tension?

These blokes have pretty much nailed it, you just need to keep good pressure on the line so it packs down well. On spin reels loosely laid line can cause "wind knots" as you cast a loop can form that has similar problems to a overrun on a baitcaster. Most quality reels of either variety usually offe...

Re: Best knot for braid?

Try the improved Albright on heavier lines and the back to back Uni on lighter lines, They do OK for me. I tried the Slim Beauty but found it was neither slim nor beautiful.

Re: Tatula TT Product Review

Call me naïve, but I'd be very surprised to find TT did anything that was not completely on the level. After they pull the reel apart in the lab then evaluate it over a period of time I would not be at all surprised to find that they purched one themselves for a camparo. The fertilizer would hit the...
