Re: Tackle warehouse price matching rules
No sale discounts on Shimano or Daiwa ever. This isn't true either. There are currently at least 5 Daiwa and 1 Shimano reel on sale on their site right now. I think he means whenever they run like a Labor Day or Memorial Day sale, there's always the fine print that excludes Shimano and Daiwa amongs...

Re: Equipment Related Pet Peeves
Anything besides a baitkeeper hook below a float. Working in tackle retail, you wouldn't believe how many different lures I've seen below floats. Senkos are the most common culprit, but I saw a spinnerbait tied from the top loop (Where the blade is attached) below a float. Another would be in additi...

Screw locks, either the Picasso shaky heads (Admittedly, theirs are a bit small) or the Riot Baits ones (Football and Protestor).

Great combos! I just picked up a couple of the standard LTD XH's, and I'm loving them. Those LTD TN's are gorgeous!

Re: 50 or 60 lb Sunline FX2 Froggin' braid
I had no problem frogging with the 50lb in even decently thick vegetation. As far as abrasion resistance goes, I never tested it to the fullest extent, since I fished it exclusively in grass.

For the old straight-eyes, colors like Pro Blue, Mossback Yellow Fintail and GP IL Chart Tail are the one's I've seen going for high value on eBay.

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...
Maybe a revamped Sustain or the Vanquish coming to American shores? That would make my iCast. I'd drop a stella for an exsense....Reminds me of the Jag xj220 from the movie the Wraith!! :) Not sure I'd sacrifice the Stella... Hoping to have one in my future! ;) But the Exsence wouldn't be a bad add...

Reel for Loomis DSR 820C
Hey guys, just wondering what you'd recommend for a reel on this rod. It's going to be specifically for drop shot, probably with 10lb braid main line. I was thinking a used Daiwa Alphas or Pixy, but if anyone else has any other suggestions I am beyond open! Thanks in advance!

Daiwa Steez SV TW XH
Does anyone know if this gear ratio is coming to the Daiwa US market? I see JapanTackle has it available, but I haven't seen anything regarding it on Daiwa's American website or on retailers like Tackle Warehouse.

Re: Best value jerkbait rod
The new Megabass Orochi xXx rods aren't obscenely priced, and they do have the OneTen Stick available. Not sure what your price range is, but The Tackle Trap has them up for $260. They would seem to fall between the Levante and Orochi XX rods performance wise.

Re: Okuma spinning reels?
I have the last gen Okuma Helios spinning reel (The green one). It's honestly not a bad reel, especially considering the price, but it's nowhere near refined as a competing Shimano. It gets the job done, and it's very light, but it's got a sort of geary feeling. I've had mine for about 3 years now w...

I can skim a 1/2oz or 3/8oz Keitech Model 1 very well on my NRX 853C. 15lb InvizX. You should give the Model 3 Swim Jig /4.8 FAT a try. Holy Hell! You might just skip it accidentally. I can put that bait anywhere. ZLN100HL-TWS/TAT721MHRB-G/40# J-Braid I bet it does! I personally haven't t...

Re: Who regularly throws small 3/16-1/4 spinnerbaits?
I've had a bit of success with the War Eagle McClelland Finesse Spinnerbaits, which only come in 3/16oz and 5/16oz. I'll slow roll them around this time of year, and I've done decently on them. I just started throwing the Megabass V9 around this week at ponds, as well. It's a 3/8oz bait, but it's cr...
