Re: Was Braided Line a Game Changer for You?
Before mono there was. :D Anyway the first superlines of fusion type were kind of a one day fish and afterwards fluff to deal with. Sort of like the first few braided lines. The amount of strands also varied depending on how big the line actually was. Everything started with like three strands twine...

Re: Bone Color, Boring but Effective
I like the off white, or sometimes they label it as natural white. That somewhat natural malina folder covers color. Bone color also makes a great base if I want to sharpie draw on some lures. Things like red sharpie the gills, or highlight side pectoral fins with some red and black lines. I rarely ...

Re: Looking for Topwater Walking Bait Without Rattles
And sometimes less is more effective too. The same reason why I remove the skirt off some of my Hula Poppers, especially for the smaller ones. For such small 1/8 oz lures, there's improved casting distance as well as better lure control.

Re: Bone Color, Boring but Effective
Nothing definitive but I can come up with maybe two theories.
1. The fish think it's all belly exposed and it's vulnerable.
2. The full profile outline. Much in the same way an all black or another solid color like chartreuse works so well.

Re: Baitcasting Young Guns: Fresh New Low-Profile Reels
waiting for someone to create an actual dedicated ice fishing casting reel...but not like the 13 tear drop dead weight. I've been using an older Calcutta 51 on my MH and H ice fishing rods with great results. 8-) Awesome, been using the Chronarch Mg50 since it's inception along with the C...

Re: Shallow spinning reel spools. Help a brother understand.
This. Just minute differences but the actual performance merits differs just a bit. Shimano spool and handle comparison: Spool series --- spool width - spool base - spool lip - spool arbor - handle length radius Stradic 1000FG - 14 mm - 40 mm - 38 mm - 25 mm - handle 50 mm Stradic 1000FH - 13 mm - 4...

Re: Bantam A Wrong Handle
You can call our customer service at 877-577-0600 to handle the return. Thanks. I was looking forward to a reply from you. Could you confirm for me if the XG has a 96mm or just a 90mm? Either way it's out of stock for a while... I don't have the new Bantam A XG model, but the old MGL XG has 90 mm h...

Re: Top 5 Hardbaits of All Time
Honestly I don't know as since I do tend to favor throwing newer stuff more often over my older stuff that are proven reliable. So maybe going back on memory lane...top five...hmmmm. 1. Owner Floating Rip'n Minnow 2. Rebel Zara Spook puppy 3. Salmo Sting Suspending 4. Yo-Zuri Bass Arms Swisher 5. Ow...

Re: Brand Loyalty?
It was also be partial to brand familiarity. After you get used to a few certain models, you either grow to appreciate it or just find something really annoying about it. When I was young, I coveted Pflueger but had to settle on the cheaper counterpart of Shakespeare. I grew on Shakespeare spinning ...
