The "actual" Calcutta Conquest 50 is by far one of my favorite reels Shimano ever produced. If you actually get your hands on the Conquest version, youll love it even more as the spool is better. Definitely built them better back in the day.

The KVD baitcaster has aluminum gears. Not a fan of that. I'll take Doyos aluminum gears over Shimanos brass or aluminum any day. LOL!!! As funny as it sounds, Shimanos gears are complete junk. Not really. I think having 2 bearings in each knob is a better feel.

I don't know why, but the gears on quantum reels wear out faster than Abu, Shimano, and Daiwa. The other annoyances can usually be taken care of with some cleaning, but most anglers aren't gonna be willing to do that as often as the reels require vs other brands. 09Aldebaran yes. I dont think they had a specific BFS model in 2009. The CU50E, 1000XT, 09Aldebaran, and CH50E all have the same spool dimensions.
