Re: Lightest 1003 Spool Size Spinning Reel?

I've not kept up with the latest/greatest but it seems that with advancement in technology, spinning reels should have become substantially lighter with the passage of time. What is the current lightweight state of the art in size 1003 spinning reels? And what is the weight in either gram or ounces...

Re: Major craft JDM warranty / tip replacement

Yeah I know Plat and Digitaka went the DHL-FedEx route. Unfortunately they did not have the rod I wanted. I found a Daiwa Presso Limited AGS for $285. It was shipped but it was recently returned to sender. That was a great bargain. I contacted the seller but they would not send it DHL-FedEx. But it ...

Re: Major craft JDM warranty / tip replacement

Thanks, was able to order through Digitaka. Would have been nice if MC USA at least responded to my email. Guessing they are help up due to COVID 19. Two different animals....plus Major Craft America does not sell the Crostage Mebaru. I have broken 2 high end Major Craft rods and just had to eat it...

Re: Finezza Prototype Nuovo S.T. limited

Thanks for your input Alphahawk. Your posts here and on crappie.com are what got me interested in trying some JDM ultralights. The Lunakia and Tict models are high on my list. Thoughts on tubular vs solid tips? I know the rocking drift (still on the auction site) and rockin finesse are solid tip. T...

Re: Finezza Prototype Nuovo S.T. limited

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these rods. I was looking at the 6'10" to be used with something like 3-4 lb jdm braid. I've seen a lot about the other Finezza models, but not this one. Also open to other suggestions of a 6'6" to 7' jdm ultralight for 1/32 oz jigs with light braid to ...

Re: Budget Ajing Rod under 7 ft (spinning)

I highly recommend watching TroutMagnetMan on YouTube. Alphahawk (TroutMagnetMan) has some extremely valuable videos on ultralight gear, especially the equipment made for the JDM. He has very entertaining fishing videos as well. Lots of great Crappie, Bluegill, White Bass, Trout, fishing videos, an...

Re: Budget Ajing Rod under 7 ft (spinning)

To really get an good ajing rod experience I highly suggest you try the Major Craft Triple Cross. For the money it is a great rod. I know it is more than you budgeted for but I think it will wow you with sensitivity and it is a good looking rod to boot.

Re: Corto or Finezza Help

I bought both from Rakuten....but as Allsorts said Japan is shutting down. EMS shipping is shut down.....Digitaka switched over to DHL for shipping and items are getting through as normal. I have a rod sitting at Chubu since March 28....it will in all likelihood be sent back to seller.

Re: Where to buy Diawa Gekkabijin jigs

Plat wants $73 for a spool! Sunline websight is out of stock and FinesseFishing doesn't have it either. Perhaps it is discontinued. Is there another PE braid you could recommend of similar quality? JDM PE line is one area I am not familiar with. I have some Unitika PE Night Game......but have not f...

Re: Where to buy Diawa Gekkabijin jigs

So last spring I made an order of Diawa Gekkabijin jigs along with some other JDM finesee jigs and lures but I can't remember where I bought them from that was a decent price. Please let me know again where to buy these, thanks! Also looking for a place to buy a spool of Sunline Small Game PE-HG in...

Re: Advice on 8-9ft JDM rods

I'm not sure if I read you right. You want max distance for 1 gram lures? If so, there's diminishing returns where a rod can get too long and actually reduce casting distance. With very light lures, the percentage of drag from line on the guides and the whippy rod is high relative to the kinetic en...

Re: Daiwa GEKKABIJIN SW LIGHT JIGHEAD

Hi Randy, I saw your post saying you are going down to size 10 instead of 8 and that 'it makes things easier'. Can you explain what you mean by that and why the shift? Have you ever had these hooks pull straight given how thin they are? Thanks. Ive caught some 20 inch Smalles on these hooks...never...
