Re: Raid Japan Rods
I've been told that the Technix rods were really good for bottom contact if you can find one.

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
I can't imagine trying to get a solid hook set from 100 yards away.

Re: Shimano Excite Top Rods
I prefer a solid tip for light, feel, line watching techniques, such as hover strolling. Took me a while to feel comfortable with them, but I now own 3 solid tip rods. Definitely not for everyone.

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
It can hold 100 yards of 12lb line. Not sure what lb test you want to use, but that should be plenty of line for most bass fishing applications. Most of my Daiwa reels hold roughly 20 to 30 yards less, and I haven't ran into any issues. I don't really fish anything heavier than a half ounce though.

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
Does anyone know if the brake adjustment slider has clicks / notches, or does it just freely slide back and forth?

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
Never had a size 70 reel before. Is it more specific for pitching and shorter casts due to the line capacity? Looking to replace my 15 Met DC as an all purpose reel for under 1/2 oz lures. I thought my 15 Met DC was best served for baits 3/8 oz and up. It would be nice if this new model handled bai...

Re: Varivas Nylon Line
I might suggest just starting by trying their ‘Varivas Bass’ nylon line. It’s a fairly new release. I haven’t tried it myself but I did try some shock leader from Varivas last year for beach and pier fishing as an alternative to the seaguar gold label and I was highly impressed. I don’t think they ...

Varivas Nylon Line
Browsing the website, they have a ton of nylon lines. There's a dozen I'm curious about and want to try one, but I have no idea where to start. I'm looking for something to throw cranks and top water around 1/4oz and 3/8oz. I fish a lot of rip rap and chunk rock. I see they have some floating mono l...

Nylon replacement for OG Defier?
I've been using Defier for so long now, I haven't as much as looked at other mono lines. I need something with a little thinner diameter than 11lb Defier for a few shallower spools. Just want to avoid all the kinks, twisting, etc. I'm not even sure there's another mono that handles as well as Defier...

Daiwa/SLP 1012 Magforce Z spool
Anyone using this spool? Which reel, and how do you like it. I've only used the 1012SV version, not the Mag Z. I'm wondering how they compare. Is the Mag Z version less restricted and more consistent? I'm assuming it performs like the 1016 Mag Z spool, just less line capacity and can probably handle...

Re: SV Boost in older Daiwa reels?
Thank you. I run the Zpi Nrc001-m spool in my Steez SV TW reels. Have you tried it by any chance?

SV Boost in older Daiwa reels?
Has anyone tried one of the boost spools in one of the original Steez SV reels, or a TDZ platform? I'm thinking about buying the shallow version to try in these, but I'm not sure if it's going to be overly wild or not.
