Re: Red Zillion SV TW 1000.
To me the Zillions are great reels, but the Alphas nose piece that is metal and part of the frame just feels more solid. It is nice to have in winter and doesnt get so cold, but it feels cheap. Just an odd design choice because the Zillions are very rigid and have metal under that piece, so why not ...

Re: Red Zillion SV TW 1000.
Looks good! Wonder if the colors with mismatch finishes like the TW HD does. It has the shiny black metal side plates/frame, then a more matte black on that plastic cover. That is still the only dislike I have about the new Zillions...

Re: Project Tundra Type R
I’ve been up to this project and it’s about done. Just got the Magnuson 2650 supercharger installed and a trip with the wife down. Pictures of my 2019 tundra trd pro I found with 17k miles and as of this post 30k miles Tundra's are amazing looking trucks, I remember when that 5.7 first came out. Wa...

Re: Are you using any Chinese manufactured reels?
I will continue to use Daiwa and Shimano, probably till I die. That being said, 2 of the highest end models I have owned have had issues. My Steez A had a tick and I just had to dig into a Conquest SE to get my brake dial to even turn. That being said, even with those small issues they are still mor...

Re: Aldebaran Tough to Dial In?
For that BFS rod, what size line will you be using? Anything larger than 8lb fluoro, ~0.24mm dia, I'd opt for the 30. Ald BFS holds about 50m of 8lb sniper/shooter. I've spooled to the halfway mark on 100m shooter spools. 8 lb Fluoro is what I was thinking, max. Maybe 6 lb. Not sure exactly. Sunlin...

Re: Conquest SE Brake Dial
That sux...I wouldn't even mess with it and risk damaging something. Send it back for a replacement. You are probably right. Just feel bad because now I will have returned a Conquest SE and a Stradic 2000SHG. Both Shimanos from Digi and I'm thinking they assume I'm just doing it for free shipping. ...

Conquest SE Brake Dial
So I hate to always find something wrong, but I cannot adjust my brakes on my new Conquest SE. The outside dial turns WAY too easy and the little gear that moves the brake cone doesnt move. The tiny Phillip's head screw moves though. Thinking maybe it is just loose? Either way, now i know why I kept...

Re: Daiwa Tatula 300 Question
I eventually would like to get a 5.3 300 for A-rigs and bigger swimbaits. What gear ratio do you have? I got the 7:1 for swimbaits big topwater and magnum cranks - it's going on a 9ft XH rod so the faster IPT will help me work the lures w/o having to swing the rod tip. I don't think you need 5:1 ra...

Re: Calcutta Conquest SE
I ran 12lb Daiwa J Fluoro Hidden. Got about 65 yards or so, maybe a bit more. I know after backlashing I only had like 20 yards. Also thinking my tension knob being crazy loose made that engagement feel weird and make the reel throw so loosely. I really didn't expect that J Fluoro to fill it anyways...

Re: Daiwa Tatula 300 Question
Lol I have other 300 sized reels - this one's drag is special. I should have known that, not sure why I thought you wouldn't have felt other 300 reels. I eventually would like to get a 5.3 300 for A-rigs and bigger swimbaits. What gear ratio do you have? I was most surprised and proven wrong a whil...

Re: Daiwa Tatula 300 Question
My guess would be that because you are testing it, the reel's drag range is more on the lower end rather than closer to the max. I am just guessing, but I would guess a reel with such a high drag rating would feel good at test ranges. Now if you are talking about while fish are pulling, maybe they h...
